Thanks to the medias habit of showing beatific, outdated photos of Trayvon Martin, many Americans who only casually followed the trial of George Zimmerman incorrectly believed him to have been younger than he actually was at the time of his death. In a Friday interview, Zimmermans lead defense attorney, Mark OMara admitted that he was one of them.
Speaking with CNN correspondent Martin Savidge, OMara denounced what he called a wonderfully created and crafted public relations campaign by the attorney for Martins family, Benjamin Crump and his allies. According to OMara, had they not injected a racial element into the story, Zimmerman would never have been tried.
Such was the power of the narrative of a bruising white man deliberately gunning down a small boy out of racial malice that even OMara, a seasoned defense attorney very familiar with media sensationalism, bought into it.

Makes you wonder how many stories that we read in the local newspapers are nothing like what occurred of the actual events. Yellow journalism to something much worse.
The media is just plain unethical to all those who portrayed the lies of this case. Beginning with the photo comparisons that ran on the news.
C3P0: No one worries about upsetting a droid.
Solo: That's because a droid doesn't rip people's arms off when they lose. Wookies are known to do that.
Here's how I generally phrase it to people who are too trusting of the media:
Everyone, it doesn't really matter how much they might know about anything else has some one subject that they know quite a bit about. They can be a functional moron as far as everything else in their life is concerned, but there's generally something they are passionate about that they know front and back.
Once you do determine what that particular subject is, ask them one simple question. "If you've ever heard that particular topic reported on in the media did they generally get the facts right, or were they completely off base?" In almost every case the latter is the case. Next, you drive it home. "If they are so completely off base about (X), then why in the world would you trust them about anything else?"
You can pretty much make the same case if they've ever been personally involved in a case that got any kind of media attention, whether substantial or not. Chances are, the press gets just about everything of importance wrong. The bigger the story, the more likely the story is 90% propaganda and 10% truth.
The press is by far more dangerous to us than just about anyone imagines. Rush's rather pithy quote about "random acts of journalism" is far closer to reality than just about anyone would like to believe.
This appears to be no minor mistake. It’s full on wickedness. But, paradoxically, wickedness brings on so much blindness that being able to discern something in the midst of it seems to take a heroic effort.
God does care, though. The cross of Christ would never have had to be furnished if it wasn’t needed.
The media’s hugest temptation is driven by the love of money, as well as the pride of influence. Sensation sells, and so the most benighted point of view will be relentlessly hawked if it gets eyes.
The answer does not lie in the political sphere. There is no salvation in politics. It lies in the theological sphere and specifically with personal relationships to God. Only God can get people out of the tangles they create for themselves.
People can not generate reason in and of themselves. God has to issue the call “let us reason together.”
Mark Twain said “If you don’t read the newspapers you are uninformed. If you read the newspapers you are misinformed.”
If msnbc is showing 59% then it’s probably 80%. The only ones pissed about this verdict are the extreme blacks, the race hustlers, the idiot whites and the white commentators. And that’s so they can keep their jobs. Which brings the question, why does Marsha Clark get on these shows about Trayvon? She “persecuted” a black man.
Everyone I know who’s ever been interviewed for a paper, including me, will tell you the “reporter” got it all wrong.
Everything on the MSM is a lie wrapped around a conspiracy. Everything. It is their modus operandi.
I hope Zimmerman didn’t sign the rest of his life away to O’Mara. Since he was found not guilty he can write a book, make a movie, whatever. But, I doubt Hollywood would be willing to write Zimmerman a check. They’ll probably make the movie about Trayvon and write his parents a check. And they won’t have to pay Zimmerman because they’ll take it all from the news.
Don’t be distracted. The Federal government is going to use sleight of hand, to keep our attention focussed on riots and demonstrations like the ones in Oakland, San Francisco and elsewhere, to try and give Boehner and Cantor breathing room to force amnesty for illegal aliens down our throats. DON’T LET THEM DO THIS!!
I have been directly or peripherally involved in several news stories. In every case the reporter/ette was only interested in how to incorporate my answer to her questions into their already constructed self serving narrative. As a result I don’t believe anything I read/see/hear in the mainstream media without independent objective verification. They are generally not very bright and view everything through leftist colored glasses.
