State Attorney Angela Corey fired her offices information technology director Friday after he testified last month about being concerned prosecutors did not turn over information to George Zimmermans defense team in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin.
On the same day attorneys finished their closing arguments in that nationally watched trial, a state attorney investigator went to Ben Kruidbos home about 7:30 a.m. to hand-deliver a letter stating Kruidbos can never again be trusted to step foot in this office.
The letter contended Kruibos did a poor job overseeing the information technology department, violated public records law for retaining documents, and noted he was questioned in March when the office was trying to determine who had leaked personnel information obtained through a computer breach.
In an interview Friday, Kruidbos denied the allegations in the letter, which was written by Cheryl Peek, the managing director of the State Attorneys Office.
He said he had acted in good faith about genuine concerns. He said he had been proud to work at the State Attorneys Office and feared the letter would cripple his chances at finding another job to support his family, including a 4-month-old son.
I dont have any regrets, he said, but I am terrified about the future and what that will end up being.(continued)

Angela Corey is sharing electronic communications with Eric Holder’s people to Trayvon’s mom Sybrina. “Don’t worry, the U.S. Attorney General is running this kangaroo court.”
covering up Corey and Bernie love affair (with graft)
The camera doesn’t lie, does it? She’s utterly corrupt and totally devoted to herself and her wardrobe. Another empty-headed narcissist.
White then contacted one of Zimmermans attorneys and learned the defense had not received the report generated by Kruidbos. The defense did receive the source file from the cellphone and used its own experts to extract data. Last month, Zimmermans attorneys subpoenaed both White and Kruidbos during a pretrial hearing on their motion seeking sanctions against prosecutors. Circuit Judge Debra Nelson deferred a ruling until after the trial.
Does this describe the same data which Judge Nelson excluded from evidence?
If so, there is a strong argument to be made that such a ruling was obvious and reversible error. The data excluded shows Martin to be an aggressive street punk and the whole state case scribing him as being a "child" would be destroyed.
Is there some connection between the judge and Cory? One is a Democrat and the other Republican but I think both of them are unwed and probably women who wear very sensible shoes. Was the judge protecting the prosecutor with this ruling?
Does the prosecutorial misconduct, if true when coupled with the erroneous ruling, if erroneous, provide good grounds for appeal?
The cell phone images and texts were among the items excluded from evidence, yes.
One wonders exactly why a judge would defer a ruling on such matters until after the trial.
And, yes, it certainly does appear that the judge and the state attorney are working "hand in hand".
Your Dreyfuss analogy becomes more apt with every passing day.
...In response to his harsh criticism, Dershowitz claims Corey called Harvard Law School and, "threatened to sue the institution, get me disciplined by the Bar, and made accusations of libel and slander".[27]
BD Note: Khoury/Khouri/Corey?
Angela Corey's is a career in need of destruction.
Whatever he does... he should NOT fly to Moscow... unless he wants to bunk with Snowden.
Kruidbos now knows what it feels like when goose-stepping jackboots dance on your head.
Related to Tiny Tim perhaps? :-O
I talked to a Frenchman who was surprised that an American knew anything at all about the Dreyfus affair. I was the first he ever met who had.
It is not unusual for a judge to defer a sanctions hearing until trial is concluded. However, counsel will argue (usually for the defense) that their ability to represent the client is impeded by a kind of intimidation. That is exactly what the judge was doing when she foreclosed Don West's objections as the judge was interrogating the defendant and then cited to counsel the roles of conduct respecting objection after a ruling-there can hardly be a less subtle way to intimidate counsel. It is counsel's job to advocate on behalf of a client and he cannot do so if he is foreclosed.
The judge might have wanted to defer a ruling until the conclusion of the trial in order to get the prosecutors off the hook. If the jury acquits, the judge can hold that there was no prejudice because no harm was done. Or, the judge might have wanted to establish by her ruling of exclusion that there was no harm done and let the prosecutors off the hook that way and for roughly the same reason.
We have a politically charged case, interference with the orderly course of prosecutorial discretion running from the White House through the Department of Justice, to the governor of Florida, a special prosecutor, and the city administration, tainting a murder investigation, and now we have alleged misconduct by the special prosecutor in failing to disclose crucial evidence. Finally, the trial judge renders a highly dubious ruling excluding that evidence.
It is hardly surprising that blood pressure rises in patriotic hearts who love the rule of law.
I s’pose you hate Ronald Reagan, too, for giving us that pro-sodomite SCOTUS clown Tony Kennedy?
Give me a break.
People are responsible for their own actions. Jeb didn’t endorse this kind of behavior by Corey.
“Can they even legally terminate him without giving him a chance to defend himself?”
Florida is a right to work state. Any employee can be fired. It is good procedure to document the issues first. An employee meeting has always been mandatory where I’ve worked. The boss, usually in the presence of the HR manager, goes over the issues. You ask the employee to sign whatever comes out from that. Sometimes they do, sometimes they won’t. In which case the boss and the HR manager sign.
This is Corey’s MO — fully expected
Will the wimps and wussies in the Florida Legislature bring impeachment charges against the State officials who conducted this witch hunt?
Who in the media can George Zimmerman sue? George said he wanted to become a lawyer, he ought to hit the books, as he'll get a lot of practical experience, if he can sue the whole damn lot of them.
Mark O’Mara’s next client.
This is akin to finding out someone walked into a police station, took a dashcam video out of evidence and deleted it. This is beyond an ethics breach. This is criminal behavior on the part of state law enforcement.
Someone HAS to go to jail for this.
>> Angela Corey doesn’t sound like a very good person
The rest of the players in the Zimmerman kangaroo court, from the judge on down, are lowlife tools with hidden agendas and no morals or character.
But Angela Corey is different. She is pure evil.
