Every single day we wake up in the city of Chicago, some child, some young adult, some African-American male has been murdered, state Rep. Monique Davis said Thursday. This is not acceptable.
Im hearing from mothers that they are afraid to go outside, she said. Hospitals are overburdened with 70 gunshot wounds in one day. Ambulances are so busy people are driving victims in their own cars.
Davis held a press conference this week to ask Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn to call in National Guard to protect our children so they can go to the park and swim and play and have a childhood. She said the governor has not responded."

Seems to working GREAT in Afghanistan.
Then let the democrats do it because no conservative will ever live it down.
Don’t be a H8r. She’s helping us stop SSM.
Has to be a hoax. If it was true the Republicans would make an issue out of it. Wouldn’t they?

Never lived in the city of Chicago, but in an adjoining county abutting Cook county, a county full of lovely Republican, tree-lined suburbs. Du Page county is conservative and safe....but I wonder for how long.
I think the racial terrorists will be abandoning the riot-and-burn-the-cities, mob techniques of the sixties and begin using more Alinsky-style tactical approaches...raining cement blocks down from overpasses on the suburban cars driving to and from their jobs in the cities, flash mobs unexpectedly gathering at large stores like K-Marts and WalMarts that are full of enticing, fence-ible loot, breaking in and smashing and then running with their gains....that sort of thing....smaller groups, better planning, safer tactics. They have plenty of more brainy "community organizers" leading and directing them now.
The suburbs are safer by and large, but for how long!

Just recently, Mayor Rahm gracefully plied into the controversy created after Alderman Proco Joe Moreno (1st ward) publicly announced his opposition to Chick-Fil-A opening in his ward.
Mayor Rham chuckled while doing a graceful plie: "It's easy to do business in Chicago when you know 'the rules.' Chick-Fil-A can open in our town as long as it adopts 'Chicago Values.' "
(1) weekly cash pay off to the alderman;
(2) hire six of the alderman's friends who work only random days of the month,
(3) BIG AL from the Mayor's office picks up all cash in brown paper bags at CFA's back door,
(4) Chick Fil A staff trained by Chicago PD to shoot 10-12 customers per month,
(5) Any CFA customers actually killed must be registered to vote as Democrats at the autopsies,
(6) $100,00 campaign contribution to Obama,
(7) free food to Jesse Jackson, Jr, who is now "convalescing," b/c he screwed up buying Obama's Senate seat.

Concealed carry has not been enacted in Chicago yet despite a recent court order and passage of a highly restrictive concealed carry law. The Attorney General is still prosecuting legal gun owners who carry concealed in Chicago outside their homes.
Detroit has seen its population plummet since the incompetent racist Coleman Young was mayor; a lot of that was due to the cratering of the auto industry, which itself resulted from the deadly combination of the 1973 OPEC embargo and permanent high oil prices controlled by a cartel, along with the need for higher-markup smaller vehicles — to support the UAW welfare state — and those are difficult to sell without a constant drive for quality improvement a la the Japanese. I remember when Japanese cars were first starting to appear, they were small, fuel efficient, piles of junk that disintegrated from the winter salt. So, the gubmint said, knock it off with the salt. :’)
Anyway, the Detroit of the 1960s riots and 1970s shuttered storefronts is basically gone, literally demolished. My last trip downtown there was about ten years ago, it was already beginning to look like I could farm there.
maybe... juuuuuust maybe... the policies, morals, values and ethics play some part in the well being of a community.
if that community starts destroying itself, it might be a sign of failed practices.
and if those practices yield similar results in different cities... quite possibility the practices are at fault... those practices being those employed by the progressive left for decades.
but hey, what do i know. please, continue shooting each other.
no, seriously... keep blasting away. i’ve got more popcorn and there’s nothing better then watching liberal policies disintegrate in real-time
Must be in all those neighborhoods full of creepy-ass-crackers. Or the Amish.
This is the same mentality that kept Eric Holder’s people in New Orleans as Katrina bore down, the mentality that it is somebody else’ responsibility to save you.
No state of emergency.
Posse Comitatus (erh however itz spelt)
They should pass some laws restricting guns, and all their problems will disappear! /s
I believe that is the goal of the libs
PC is irrelevant; the IL Constitution specifically gives authority to the Governor to call on the militia to enforce law: see post 38.
Best not to waste the ammo unless homeland security wants to take care of it.
Perhaps marksmanship classes and some target practice. Way too much collateral damage by the local nationals.
If they don’t like the moral standards of their Hood then they should start taking their Hood back themselves starting with their own house and own kids. The men should once again become such and the women glad of it.
The problem with that attitude is precisely that it makes for republican
governors that are afraid to act. Even when the action would be wholly directed against invaders (like this). In short, it makes for abdication of power [and responsibility] to the federal government -- results of which we are reaping with today's statist policies.
