Today, July 12th, is DAY #24 (of 5th week) State of Florida V. George Zimmerman case.
Yesterday the prosecution provide closing arguments (Summary: http://legalinsurrection.com/2013/07/states-closing-argument-two-hours-of-raising-doubt).
Today the defense attorney, Mark O’Mara will present his closing argument. Then the prosecution rebuttal.

There is not a shred of evidence that GZ committed any crime much less 2nd degree murder or manslaughter. So I’m looking for an acquital or worst case a hung jury. I cannot imagine 6 people agreeing that this poor guy is guilty.
So, at worst we have a hung jury with one refusing to convict.
10 to one says lying Tracy and his “grieving” ex-wife will get back together. Mark it down.
That 1 million $ HOA insurance settlement will go a long way to making that happen
Wouldn’t it be interesting if the jury came out NOW and went, “Not Guilty?”

With this jury I dont think they can get a conviction..but you never know
But a better Prosecutor with a favorable Judge and a different jury might get one...especially if retried they will handle GZ’s statements much differently
I was talking to some Seminole County government employees a few months ago and they said the only people in the USA happy about this farce is the City of Lake Mary. Another 800’ south and the incident would have been in Lake Mary, not Sanford. That would have been even crazier cause Lake Mary is Seminole County’s Affluent city with Heathrow and the black population in the city has to be below 1%. There aren’t many and the ones that do live there are Successful or as the minority folks call them, Uncle Toms. The media would have went even crazier with their race baiting then. Would have been Rich White folks killing nice AA children. Sanford is about 40-60 black to white.

I don’t think he did. That is the part that bothers me most. If the jury goes with the lesser crime, GZ could potentially do more time than he would with Murder Two.
Who is that speaking now?
People keep saying they’ll convict because they have kids *like* Trayvon but I think they feel the opposite: they have kids that need protection *from* ‘kids’ like Trayvon, the kind of protection Zimmerman and his crew are trying to provide.
The reasonable doubt is so hugh (& series) you could drive a triplewide through it!
