Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) told Breitbart News in an exclusive interview on Thursday that he is contemplating a run for president in 2016 and that he will likely make an announcement on a decision shortly after the 2014 midterm congressional elections.
Weve been thinking about it, Paul said in a phone interview. And we will continue to think about it probably until after the 2014 elections. I havent made a decision, its a big decision you know with regard to family and the extensive travel thats involved with it. And then also just seeing where the country is going in the next year or two.
According to a new Public Policy Polling (PPP) survey, Paul leads the pack of potential 2016 GOP candidates in both Iowa and New Hampshire. Pauls 18 percent in the poll leads New Jersey Gov. Chris Christies 16 percent, 15 percent for former Vice Presidential candidate and House Budget Committee chairman Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI), 14 percent for former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, 11 percent for Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), 10 percent for Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), 6 percent for former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum, 2 percent for Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal and 1 percent for New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez.

If R. Paul doesn’t get serious about social conservative positions, no way. And that includes borders and amnesty.
The defense industry.
I dont trust Rand on amnesty. Only politician I trust right now is Cruz.
&&&
Ditto
I’m in for Paul. Maybe not my first choice, but the most serious candidate for actually shrinking the size of government.
***
So his stance on illegals is fine with you?
Yes, Paul needs to back off the amnesty talk real quick if he wants any conservative support.
***
Yeah, he should just deceive the voters and, then, reveal his true agenda after he is elected.
Isn't he a wild-eyed, drug-addled, baby-killing, packer?
Rand is too soft on the immigration issue for my tastes. Plus, I dislike how he rants against the Amoeba’s nominees, then votes for them. Sometimes, I don’t get the man. He is smart and likeable, however. Bob
All you need do is to remember from whose loins he came. His sire is crazier than the proverbial $h!thou$e rat. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Give “Rand-y” 25 years and he’ll be barking mad, just like his old man./JMO
I would not vote for him if he was the last person on earth.
I am with you Mr. Blond. Also, Rand Paul voted to confirm Kerry and Hagel. Cruz voted against both of them. Cruz is my man
The Pauls are demagogues, and they’ve worked nonstop to divide the Tea Party with their fake version.
I’m standing with Rand. Do you want a Bush? Tell me why ,in light of the past? And Rubio? You are kidding. He and “Paul Lying”
are politically finished. Who else you got? Yes, Perry has a heads up Chance but he is as stupid as a creosote soaked fence post. This Doctor Paul is our man — hands down.
I am always surprised by the people who claim to be Palin fans who cannot spell her name correctly.
I believe that that is his natural hair. I think that Rand would look better in a shorer haircut..to tone down the overly messy look of too many curls. And he needs guidance on his choice of suit colors. In general, he needs guidance and a handler for appearances sake. Go, Rand, Go!
Is Cruz running for President?
No.
LOL! I can’t disagree with you about that. Bob
“Im standing with Rand. Do you want a Bush?”
Do I want a Bush? No, not really. But I at least want an electable candidate. One that has an actual chance of winning a Presidential election. That ABSOLUTELY does NOT include Rand or his infamous father. Most CONSERVATIVES would laugh out loud at the thought of either being elected to this nations highest office. BTW, the term “CONSERVATIVE” does NOT apply to the famous Doctor or his ilk.
Geez, it is like going back in time. These PaulBots just never stop. But they are very misguided. Both Ron & Rand have about as much chance of becoming POTUS as I do. If a vote were held today, just on Freerepublic, could either be elected? Not a chance. I would predict each might get around 5% of the vote. And that is just on FR. What do you suppose the result will be in a real national election??
It just never ends with these people. If you yell louder, and more often, you voice must somehow carry more weight. You might be able to intimidate limp wristed liberals (of which I classify BOTH Pauls) with your tactics, but not real Conservatives.
Ron Paul was an absolute embarrassment during the last election cycle. I expect no less from his offsping this time either. He will get around 5% of the LIBERAL/LIBERTARIAN vote and then claim some sort of moral victory.
How these people are elected to a position higher than Dog Catcher is the real mystery.
