Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) and Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) urged their House Republican colleagues to pass immigration reform legislation in a closed-door meeting Wednesday, with the Speaker arguing his conference would be in a much weaker position if it failed to act.
A divided House Republican conference met for more than two hours in the basement of the Capitol to begin hashing out a response to the sweeping immigration bill the Senate passed last month.
-snip-
He (Issa) said the House would deal with the 11 million illegal immigrants, but that the conference viewed them not as a uniform block, but in three distinct categories: Those who should remain, those who should not remain, and those who would fall within guest workers or other programs.

The GOP would be stronger without Boehner.
I’d rather see him shipped back to Ohio, covered with tar and feathers. And it’s OK with me if Toomey comes back to Pennsyltucky in the same condition.
Another reason for term limits. These politicians are too far removed from their constituents and too close to the big money and power offered to them on a daily basis.
Passing anything regarding amnesty will weaken the GOP. I’ve had it with them.
Where’s the Fence?
“I detest the GOP leadership.”
Yup. Utterly and completely.
Amnesty will destroy the GOP. For two totally separate reasons, neither of which is disputable.
‘I realize this is from “The Hill”...’
Yeah, and they’re at the fore of the nedia assault on conservatives.
RINOs have adopted an “amnesty or nothing” attitude. If the GOP establishment needs an immigration bill so bad then all they have to do is put pressure on the RINOs to drop that “amnesty or nothing” stance. ‘Party discipline’ isn’t just for conservatives.
i as well. freaking vichy republicans working for/with their democrat masters.
Any District meetings over the August recess should be as hot as possible. There should be no bill at all. Any bill will be used as a vehicle for amnesty.
Yep. Cantor must go, as well.
They’re going to play the “compassionate conservative” card to try to pass Amnesty under the disguise of a “new and improved” Dream Act. For the children...
How weak ya gonna be without a party left, Mr. Speaker?
simpering fool
Why don’t they just tell Odumbo No, and then wait for a Conservative Republican President to start a new bill that will ACTUALLY address the boarder first; and then secondly AFTER that fact fix a solution for the eventual legalization; once the boarder IS secure..?
this bunch likely to give that in tax credit for hiring a foreign criminal alien
where is that new party cuz we need it
Here is a group to watch and prod...this gang rode in on Tea Party "endorsement"...and ONE MORE reelection and they get that coveted 5 years of congressional service...thus the bogus retirement they give themselves..

Boehner and Ryan - “America MUST be destroyed!” These piggies can KMA!
