The second degree murder trial of George Zimmerman in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin took a bizarre turn tonight as the judge presiding over the case stormed out of her courtroom over the objections of defense attorneys.
Judge Nelson had heard several hours of after hours arguments on proposed defense evidence and witnesses.
As the 10 o'clock hour drew near, Nelson announced the court would be in recess until 8 a.m. tomorrow, prompting objections from defense attorneys O'Mara and West that would not give them time to prepare for the day. Nelson told them she didn't want the jury to have to wait like they did this morning. As West complained that he physically could not keep up the pace the judge was forcing on the defense Nelson bolted from her chair and stormed out of the courtroom.
The entire 16 minutes of the YouTube video of the end of today's session is worth watching. Advance to the last few minutes, about 14:00, for the fireworks.

It confirms what you said about 'emotions' and not a trace of logic or reason.
Toss of a coin. Oh wait...we were talking about Ito...Sorry. I cut cards. And it's technically "Sir." :^)
(I'm Lady Liberty's brother. Don't mess with her.)
@RichardHornsby: For those listening, Don West’s comments about physically unable to proceed are grounds for reversal.

Aren’t judges allowed to recuse themselves for whatever reason?
This was the interchange of the night about allowing the texts in Trayvon Martin’s phone into evidence. The judge said that anybody could have gotten his phone and sent those texts:
West: There was a double level of security.
Judge: And I know any seven year old can learn the passwords and get into that because they do it all the time.
West: The FDLE had his phone for a year and they couldnt do it.
[It’s time to fire the staff at FDLE and hire some 7 year olds]
Great post. But what about the authentication issue.
Honestly, your explanation is probably a lot closer than mine.
Good possibility.

WTF?
That brings to mind an extremely repugnant mental image!
It won't be over until the riots occur and there's a beat down of some "crackas"
“More importantly, she gets angry because if so, it is clear this is happening under her watch and reflects directly on her.”
Keep in mind, the Judge doesn’t exist in a vaccuum.
She’s in the middle of a system that recently turned “hard Communist,” and doesn’t hesitate to threaten and/or kill government employees and judges.
My guess? She’s half humiliated and half panicked Obamatollah/Holder are going to ruin her career or come after her family if this case (and resulting riots) don’t follow their script.
“Justice” is dead last in terms of priorities for the prosecution/judge in this case.
I did not know that. Very interesting indeed.
She did say that. Spent about 30 seconds talking over defense protests, then didn't even write any simple, uncontested issues necessary to set up the next day. The defense has no idea what they're supposed to do after the decisions from tonight are rendered in the morning, nor does anybody else (like the Bailiff). It may be on time, but is this any way to run a railroad??
I think this "judge" is being pushed. Hard. And she may just crack up. I don't think I've heard of that happening before. Oh, I've heard of Judges being pushed before, but not of one having a nervous breakdown. Yet.
LOL...hahaha, she’s holding a torch, you probably have a fungo bat up there!
We were once co-workers. We’ve just been friends for 15 years since then. Our politics definitely do not mix but we’ve been able to be friends without that getting into the mix. This trial, however, is a test. She has not ever once pulled the race card until this case. Kind of boggles my mind.
Just in time for the first hurricane to hit. ;)
