Sarah Palin Considering Senate Run In 2014

Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin on Tuesday said that she is considering running for Senate in 2014.

Appearing on Sean Hannity’s radio program, Palin also reiterated that she would consider supporting a third party if Republicans don’t return to their conservative roots (video courtesy MoFoPolitics)

~~snip~~

“I’m glad you brought that up,” she continued, “because Senator Mark Begich (D-Ak.) has got to be replaced. He has not done what he has promised to do for the people of Alaska.”

For those wondering, Begich is up for re-election in 2014.

“If you think that whoever is running doesn’t have the ability to win, and you think you could, would that propel you into the race you think?” asked Hannity.

“Well, I think any American with a heart for service has to always have in the back of their mind that they would do anything, everything that they could to help the cause even if purpose if it’s something that doesn’t look necessarily appealing or necessarily fitting in with a conventional plan that they would try to orchestrate for themselves and their family,” Palin answered. “I along with anybody would have to say that I would do whatever I could to help. And if that was part of that help, then it would have to be considered.”

A poll conducted by Harper Polling in May found Palin leading other Republican primary contenders to face Begich in 2014.

I think it’s an excellent plan. This is where Sarah can make the contribution we all know she can.

Any Democrat or RINO who could not beat Todd in cage match would have to resign. He would put the “buster” back in Filibuster.

I’m not sure this is a good idea since Conservatives in the senate have been corrupted by McCain and Schumer.

When has she NOT made her contributions to America?

“I thought she and her family moved to AZ and established residency there after the 2008 election cycle.”

She could replace McStain!
************************************************************

That’s what I was praying for. The way Flake is acting, she could replace him too. I’m so tired of voting for someone so they can get to DC and act STUPID!!!

The field already consists of 2010 Tea Party candidate, Joe Miller, who was cheated out of Murkowski’s seat by various machinations of the corrupt bast8rd’s club, and Lt. Governor Mead Treadwell.

If Sarah is going to run here, she should announce soon. Begich has to go if we’re to obtain the majority. Could Sarah beat him?... yes... I believe she could.

Frankly, I’d like to see that lame theory tested. My anecdotal evidence here in deep blue Illinois (but red in Central IL) is that no one will care about it. Almost everybody I ask either A) doesn’t even know what happened, or B) knows and respects her choice, or C) knows and had no intention of voting for her anyway, based on pure ideology.

So if she ran, and her opponent brought it up, we’d get to see how people really thought about it. At bottom, the phony charge of “quitting” making one a “quitter” applies to everyone who ever quit a job, and that’s most people. Thus, I believe most people do not see it as a character issue at all. And once people I’ve talked to find out what was going on and why it happened, they actually respect her more, as one of those rare pols who takes her promises seriously.

So I say bring it. Let’s have it played out on the game board of real life and see what happens and settle this once and for all. Go for it Sarah.

I like Sarah Palin, but it seems to me that her time was 2010.

No doubt she’ll make the right call for her and her family. If she chooses to run, great...and if not, she’ll have her reasons.

Who knows, this could be a stepping-stone for her if she wants to run for president one day.

I don’t think she actually is, she was just answering Hannity’s question. Her answer was boilerplate and like most headlines this one exaggerates. I really have a bone to pick with headline writers.

Palin and Cruz in the Senate...Thats a sweet one-two punch combination. Aren’t they both considered ‘minorities’ by the enlightened ones definition of identity politics? Go and stir up some leftist feathers Sarah and those sad sack RINO’s too. Out with the old, in with the bold.

I hope she does run for the AK senate seat. She would make a great senator.

While I would love to see her in the Senate, they will nail her on leaving Governorship before term was up.

Nevermind that Begich votes like an anti American communist.

...and her credibility would be helped by her actually doing something instead of just talking.

Just FYI...this is all the credibility that Sarah Palin needs:

Not a good idea. She should run for president instead. Plus, the voters of Alaska fell for that crap Murkowski pulled on us, they can’t be counted on for anything.

I hope she does run for the Senate. She can win that race. I don’t think she could win the presidency in 2016—or ever, unless she gets back in an elected statewide office. This would do that. And even if she never runs for the presidency, but is a solid conservative voice and vote in the Senate, that would be great.

I agree with you. I heard that, and it didn't sound to me like a serious answer that she was considering it at all, sounded like she was just being nice to Hannity for asking.

Jim,

I listened to the segment on Hannity, and I came away with the interpretation that she talked around the answer to the question, while giving a positive encouragement for conservative newcomers to run.

She talked about a duty to serve and took a swipe at Murkowski(?) (entrenched political families) and talked about the failures of the Senator coming up in ‘14, but she didn’t say she was interested.

Like the last election, Sarah keeps her cards close to her chest.
