And so it goes. Goodbye BSA—you were good for awhile.
Indeed.
good. i wish conservatives could get their act together for a third party as quickly.
I'll send them money.
I hope this new organization forms soon.
It would be nice to get some alignment with Promise Keepers.
The homosexuals destroyed the Boy Scouts. Let’s see what else the homosexuals will wreck, besides each other’s lives.
The speed of this is impressive. First meeting two weeks ago, nationwide launch by the end of the year. That’s really something. I’m sure God’s blessing will help.
Now we need something like this in the political sphere with the likes of Ted Cruz, Allen West and Sarah Palin leading the charge.
Sounds just great!
It is one thing to recognize that some boys will exhibit homosexual interests, and to make sure they are welcome and not hurt or discriminated against as they work out their maturation. It is altogether another thing to officially approve of the “gay lifestyle” and invite it to be practiced or paraded openly by said youngsters, and by them to all the other boys in Scouting.
The idea of Scouting is to help boys grow up successfully, not to mis-lead them into dysfunctional lifestyles (which, admittedly, a few will still choose... but Scouting should not be seen as a facilitator or enabler of such a choice).
Man, this is good to hear. I raised my share of hell in scouts, but I can’t begin to count the ways in which it influenced me in a positive way, despite my attempts at the time to screw around.
And maybe that’s the point. Few who enter as a Cub Scout will become an Eagle, but I would argue that every single boy will come out better than he would have if he hadn’t had the positive influence of the old traditional Boy Scouts. Whether you call it osmosis or just good role modeling, it worked for many years, and I’m delighted that some of these new organizations are picking up that mantel.
This article is worth an interim ping to the entire list. Any of you who are or were in BSA leadership, take note, investigate, and see if you can work with this group.
sounds good
bkmk
Glad to see this.

No, they will failattem
Narrowminded attempt to leave that which is good for a certain to fail attempt to meddle
I'll withhold judgment until I see them prove themselves true to their word, but if they can live the values they espouse, I'll contribute.
And bid a reluctant farewell to the Chicken Scouts of America.
I hope this new organization has hired the requisite army of lawyers to ensure they are bullet proof.
Our homeschooling Troop and Pack will pursue this option and likely sever ties to BSA at the end of year.
While adhering to traditional Christian principles is a good foundation, what will sell the organization are the traditional skills taught to the boys.
One of the worst mistakes the BSA made prior to this fiasco was in the 1970s, when they decided to be trendy and urbanize the scouts, with a big push for minority recruitment. It was an unmitigated disaster, created the most unpopular Boy Scout Manual, and resulted in the expensive ruination of several campgrounds.
If you can imagine a Scout Manual written by a community organizer...
In any event, what will appeal to boys and their parents are backwoods and other terrain survival skills and tool use, including knife, hatchet, axe, bow and arrow, rifle, handgun, and shotgun, ropes and knot work, cooking, hygiene, first aid, swimming and running. I would strongly suggest teaching them some judo and karate as well.
