For Immediate Release
July 9, 2013
Washington, DC
Good afternoon. My name is Rob Green. I am from Spartanburg, South Carolina and I will be the interim Executive Director of a new national youth character development program for boys.
Louisville Meeting:
On Saturday, June 29, 2013 a landmark meeting occurred in Louisville, Kentucky. Nearly 50 leaders from around the country came together, each with a strong interest in forming a new scouting-like organization for young men. We had veteran scout leaders, representatives from major faith denominations, and national organizations concerned with youth and families. From that meeting, held less than two weeks ago, the new organization we are announcing today was formed.
What is the new program?
Our vision is to be the premier national character development organization for young men which produces Godly and responsible husbands, fathers, and citizens.
The new program will be an exciting and motivating outdoor-based program focused on leadership and character development for boys, and founded on principles and values that reflect a Christian worldview.
It will be open to all boys irrespective of race, religion, ethnicity, or national origin. Parents from all faiths are welcome to place their children in the program. While boys may come from every religious background, adult leaders in the program from the National Board level to individual unit volunteers will adhere to a standard statement of Christian faith and values.
The program and themes will teach practical life skills, an appreciation for the outdoors, service to others, leadership, and character development.
The new organizations name is currently in development and undergoing an extensive process of legal research and trademark protection. The organizational structure and primary programs are also currently being developed.
The Mission
Our mission is simple and clear: to guide generations of courageous young men to honor God, lead with integrity, serve others, and experience outdoor adventure.
National Convention & Launch
Our initial national convention will be held in Nashville, Tennessee on Friday and Saturday, September 6 and 7, 2013.
At the convention the organizations name, logo and branding information will be unveiled along with other program details.
In late November of this year the registration process for chartering new units will be announced along with a transition plan for scouting units interested in the new organization. We will be distinctly different from the Boy Scouts although there will be some similarities. For instance, rank advancements earned within the BSA will be transferable.
In addition, the organizations membership policy will focus on sexual purity rather than sexual orientation. The policy will read, in part: the proper context for sexual relations is only between a man and a woman in the covenant of marriage.
The new organization will be ready to launch on January 1, 2014.
Coalition Partners
There are several national and regional groups working together as a coalition together to form the new organization. They include:
OnMyHonor.net
Faith Based Boys
TrailHead USA
Frontier Service Corps
The program will also be modeled after that of the American Heritage Girls. It is our goal to work closely with them to provide Godly, character building programs for our countrys young men and women. American Heritage Girls has been in existence for 18 years and offers a wealth of experience and structure which will help our new national boys organization grow and flourish.
Thank you for standing with us.
On my honor,
John Stemberger
Founder of OnMyHonor.Net
Rob Green Interim Executive Director
Better to dump BSA now. Look at what GSA turned into.
Thanks!
I believe a lot of Scouts and Scouting units were going to tough it out as long as they could in the absence of any alternative. But with the promotion of this new organization, I pray that many more will flee the old sodomized organization for the new one.
Glad to see this.

I think I am suggesting something slightly different, that scouting recognize the sexual interests of boys that age and respond to it in positive ways, insofar as possible, such as thru counseling and maybe some programmatic content that upholds positive roles for the boys to aspire to or grow into.
but your approach could work, too. do you think it is realistic to maintain “nothing sexual should be allowed at all” in Scouting? I mean, they are boys of that age....
and many parents put their boys into scouting hoping for some sort of positive role modeling or at least guidance, perhaps to reinforce what they are trying to provide their kids at home...or perhaps because the parents cannot provide it.
just my 2cents worth. thanks.
No, they will failattem
Narrowminded attempt to leave that which is good for a certain to fail attempt to meddle
If they want my kids they need to stay away from the crud. If they are old enough for sex they are old enough to move out and get jobs
I'll withhold judgment until I see them prove themselves true to their word, but if they can live the values they espouse, I'll contribute.
And bid a reluctant farewell to the Chicken Scouts of America.
I hope this new organization has hired the requisite army of lawyers to ensure they are bullet proof.
I don’t really think that “if they are old enough for sex, they are old enough to move out and get jobs.”
Indeed, it is the ages of most of these boys when they are interested in learning about sex (a mild way of stating it), but are still far too young to move out and get jobs on their own (at least, in modern America).
those “difficult years” if you will .... that all parents have to try to deal with successfully. Scouting can be a lot of help, especially when there is no man in the home...
Our homeschooling Troop and Pack will pursue this option and likely sever ties to BSA at the end of year.

Thanks for the comments!
While adhering to traditional Christian principles is a good foundation, what will sell the organization are the traditional skills taught to the boys.
One of the worst mistakes the BSA made prior to this fiasco was in the 1970s, when they decided to be trendy and urbanize the scouts, with a big push for minority recruitment. It was an unmitigated disaster, created the most unpopular Boy Scout Manual, and resulted in the expensive ruination of several campgrounds.
If you can imagine a Scout Manual written by a community organizer...
In any event, what will appeal to boys and their parents are backwoods and other terrain survival skills and tool use, including knife, hatchet, axe, bow and arrow, rifle, handgun, and shotgun, ropes and knot work, cooking, hygiene, first aid, swimming and running. I would strongly suggest teaching them some judo and karate as well.
Now we need something like this in the political sphere with the likes of Ted Cruz, Allen West and Sarah Palin leading the charge.

Amen to that!
The folks at OnMyHonor.Net are well aware of that disastrous 8-year stretch between 1972-80. Agree with all you stated. I believe that is where they are headed.
This sounds so promising. Prayers up.
Thanks for the ping.
I have donated to onmyhonor.net, and when this new group forms, I will give to them, too.
What happened from 72 to 80?
Progressives have the reverse Midas touch. Everything they touch turns to... How can they not see it?
Anyway, I’m glad that there is an alternative to the BSA.
But sadly, with the recent SCOTUS decision, I’m afraid that any organization that doesn’t celebrate sodomy will be treated as violators of civil rights. I see a lawsuit in the future.
