EL UNIVERSAL Monday July 08, 2013 03:37 PM The White House warned on Monday that former CIA staff Edward Snowden may not be allowed to travel to any other country but the United States.

The statement came after the US citizen was recently offered asylum by Nicaragua, Venezuela, and Bolivia.

The US Government keeps in touch through relevant diplomatic channels with all countries Snowden could travel across or choose for his final destination, said White House's spokesperson Jay Carney, EFE reported.

Carney's statement has been the first official US reaction after Nicaragua, Bolivia, and Venezuela recently offered Snowden asylum.

Carney further explained there were sufficient legal arguments for Russia to expel Snowden to the United States, despite the lack of any extradition bilateral treaty.

So whom did Snowden betray? His father says he did not betray the people of the United States, he betrayed the government. I agree. More precisely, he betrayed the Obama Administration. But if you think that he betrayed the United States, then you are in effect telling us that you think the Obama Administration represents the interests of the United States. Sorry.

Very much apropos: Obambi is quoted on another concurrent thread: “The government is us, and we’re doing things right”

I'm going to go out on a limb and say any passenger would agree that there is an enormous difference between the inconvenience of being rerouted to a different airport and being killed.

As far as international law is concerned, it is illegal to harbor a fugitive. If the commercial airline is sufficiently informed of the fugitive's status ahead of time, they have a legal obligation to comply.

It would be a violation of international law to escort an airliner without a due warning.

Let Barry keep talking about Snowden. He might persuade a few Hispanics to vote against Democrats.

I agree. Why do you think Bathouse Barry is freaking out about Snowden? He doesn’t fear GOPers but he fears a young man who has all the evidence on Obama.

How’s Barry going to get his Secretary-General job at the United Nation if he intentionally shoots down a civilian airplane?

Kind of a silly, futile move.Any of the filthy Fourth World scumbag nations that have offered him “asylum” can unilaterally declare him to be a citizen, give him a passport and voila!

” If the commercial airline is sufficiently informed of the fugitive’s status ahead of time, they have a legal obligation to comply.”

No they don’t.

“It would be a violation of international law to escort an airline without a due warning.”

It’s called kidnapping and a whole host of other things. Which is why we have extradition treaties to avoid the things which start wars.

Yet, we Americans voted for a criminal to occupy the White House, not just for 4 years, but for 8.

Putin knows he has strong support in the U.S., and he’s not going to do anything to hurt that reputation. Obama’s screwed.

I suggest the Russian Air Force provide cover for the commerical jet. If Bathouse Barry wants to launch World War III to keep the world from learning about his fake birth certificate then let him do it. I don’t think a Russian Bear is afraid for the Rainbow Warriors Little Pony Fight Club.

Putin could give the guy a fighter escort and be done with it.

Here's a glimpse of what Snowden has revealed.

BiG BROTHER has more than a foothold folks..

----------------------------------------------------------------

"MIT's
Immersion project sifts your Gmail, and constructs a map of your associations. Without opening a single message, it gives a clear view of who you connect with. It's a glimpse of some of what the NSA PRISM can do.

From the article: 'You can assume that if the NSA is looking at your email, the information in Immersion is similar to what they will see. Consider that they probably see all of your email addresses (and not just Gmail) and that the metadata is examined along with the metadata from everyone you’ve corresponded with, and you can see just how much can be inferred from this data alone.'"

To be fair to our hard-working public servants, somebody here ought to report to the White Hut (via its website?) that its enforcer is wide awake!

Someone tell this asshat that people in another country need not follow Obama’s delusions of grandeur.

I think that the behavior of the Administration is probably having opposite of their stated, desired effect. My guess is that these three countries want so badly to be the one to shove a sharp stick in the US's eye that Snowden's probably making them engage in a bidding war for where he eventually goes.

Snowden told Greenwald he has already stashed the secrets all over the world, even if he ends up in gitmo.

This sounds all for show...

“If we were discussing any other fugitive, this boilerplate language would be recognized for what it is: standard legal instructions.
But because it is Magical Wonderboy, to whom rules and regulations do not apply the way they do to lesser mortals, these statements are being treated as if they were unprecedentedly unjust.”

I assume you mean Obama..

Consider this your opportunity to be ‘wide awake’ and debate a White House official. But next time they should send over a smarter thug to debate Freepers. This guy isn’t up-to-standard.

Really?..... Do I have to spell out the absolute absurdity of killing hundreds of innocents for the sake of one person who is accused of crimes? Are you that myopic that you can’t see it or are you so blind for revenge that the ends justify the means? Either way you are fooling yourself if you think downing a civilian aircraft will happen.
