"...Investigators also said they were looking into the possibility that rescue crews ran over one of the two teenagers killed in the crash on Saturday. Officials released the details without explaining why the pilots were flying so slow - or why rescue officials didn't see the girl..."

what a mess
I hope that didn’t happen, but when all hell breaks lose sometimes undesirable things happen.
cluster f#@%
What fate!!! Survive a jumbo crash which usually kills everyone, but get run over by an emergency vehicle that thinks
it is coming to rescue you.
That is a very very bad day
God bless those folks, if that's what happened, because I know it will tear them up.
More tragic than the crash if true.
many unionized thugs in these fire/rescue outfits
just sayin
I spent 17 years driving Fire Apparatus, Ambulances , Heavy Rescue Squads, as a Professional Firefighter in a major city and still drive for a Volunteer Rescue Squad after being retired for 20 years.
Not all Drivers are Veterans, Some are just learning and some have been driving for a short time.
It takes a long time and much experience not to look at a great column of smoke and head for it without thinking of red lights, other vehicles, and Debris. When everyone else is looking at the fire the Driver has to keep his mind on where he will position his apparatus, upwind of the fire, mud , curbs, blocking other Apparatus, many things passing through the mind all at once, and still be in control of the Apparatus. It takes experience to be calm when everyone else is filling with adrenalin and rearing to go.
I can see where a driver could have hit a body in the debris field, unseen, and not distinctive from the rest of the debris.
Hopefully they will find it didn’t happen, but I can understand if it did.
What you are saying is a boatload of Shyt.
Not trying to offend but we can look at the inflated pensions and disability benefits bankrupting many of our cities by emergency responders. Inflated pensions just like LEO that are given massive overtime in their last year working.
These are not caring individuals, these are greedy and ‘mine, mine, all mine’ type people.
Hundreds of these thugs as you call them died on 911, 19 died just the other day in a forest fire. Firefighters die frequently giving their lives for victims and saving their property and you call them thugs. FU.
I should not be offended by you, I apologize, I realize you are too friggin stupid to have any idea WTF you are talking about.
My son is “one of these emergency responders” in Texas, and I assure you a career as a firefighter/paramedic is not for the money. These are dedicated, hard working individuals who value the life of others more than themselves.
I agree. May The Lord comfort those, both living, and deceased. Thank you.
First responders are not a fault even if they did hit the poor girl. Just would be more tragic but they are not to blame.
Geez. If the driver can’t see where to drive, then what is to prevent him from plowing into a dozen survivors or maybe a dozen rescuers? I see no way to justify driving over someone.
