Bush on What He and Obama Discussed in Africa: 'What a Big Pain the Press Is' By Noel Sheppard Created 07/07/2013 - 12:54pm

Former President George W. Bush had a marvelous line during his interview aired on ABC's This Week Sunday.

Asked by Jonathan Karl what he and President Obama discussed in Africa last week when the cameras weren't rolling, Bush replied, "What a big pain the press is" (video follows with transcript and commentary):

JONATHAN KARL (voice-over): It was the rarest of road trips.

PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA: There is no question that Africa is on the move.

KARL: A meeting of the presidents club thousands of miles from home.

FORMER PRESIDENT GEORGE W. BUSH: Laura and I are thrilled to be back in Zambia.

KARL (voice-over): A commander in chief reunion, in Africa. President Obama and former President Bush traveled separately across the continent this week, but they met in Tanzania at a memorial for victims of the 1998 embassy bombing.

KARL (on camera): It was an extraordinary moment to watch two U.S. presidents, especially you two, together here in Africa. What did you talk about when the cameras weren't rolling?

BUSH: What a big pain the press is.

(CROSSTALK)

KARL: You probably agreed entirely on that.

(LAUGHTER)

Delicious. Absolutely delicious.

Hob knobbing around Africa with a treacherous, treasonous, bastard (literally). Imparting a sense of normalcy and legitimacy on him (Obama) that is wholly undeserved, and helping support a lie and the greatest fraud perpetrated on this nation in its history.

When leaders like George Bush, equivocate on the most basic and fundamental issues, then, IMHO, they are leading in the wrong direction.

Compassionate conservatism, progressivism, go-along to get-along, and all that rubbish not withstanding.

Laura and I are thrilled to be back in Zambia.

Why don't you move there along with the entire Bush dynasty!

Yeah right, Jorge.

You know what a big pain is to we peons who pay your retirement? TYRANNY is a big pain. So is a lap dog left-stream media who won’t do their jobs investigating your successor.

Top comment:

“Nice to see the ever-classy Laura by his side. Oh, and Reggie by the president’s. Shout out to better halves.”

W might have room to call the press a big pain, but I don’t see where Zero does, considering they’ve had their lips glued to his azz since before he was elected.

“George, you had it easy withe the press. They treated you very well, even after you screwed up Katrina. With me and Michelle, it’s different. The press is on us constantly. It’s be wise I’m black, you know.”

“Ummmmmm. Sure, Barack, whatever you saw.”

What a big pain the press is.

I'm sure obammy agreed. I hope the sell-out sycophantic media take note.

"What a big pain the press is"

GWB, your attitude towards the press when you were prez was one of complete abdication. You let them walk all over you, in your chronically supine position.

Don't tell me what a pain they were; you were worse than them by your cowardice.

Dictators hate a free press.

Not that we actually have one.

Obama’s problem with the press is they all want to kiss his butt at the same time.

Bush’s problem was the MSM hated writing anything nice about him... But hell, guess that qualifies as ‘problems’ for both of ‘em...

George ran away from the press.
The press runs away from Barry.

George is a coward and Barry is a bully. Neither is a leader.
