I think Weiner’s controversial nature gives the Republicans an opportunity to win. White Jewish nominees have been problematic for the Democrats. Not since Ed Koch in 1985 has a White Jewish Dem gone on to win a general election.

I don’t have a burning preference. I expect Joe Lhota has an edge to win in the primary. He should exploit the perv factor with Weiner and the fact that he is so outrageously arrogant and unlikeable. NYC deserves better than a bonafide creep.
