Egyptian troops have opened fire on supporters of ousted President Mohammed Morsi marching in Cairo, killing three people and wounding dozens more.
The shooting came as crowds moved on the Republican Guard headquarters, where Mr. Morsi is believed to be held.
Later the Muslim Brotherhood's leader told supporters that protests would continue until Mr. Morsi was reinstated.
The army, which removed Mr. Morsi on Wednesday after days of unrest, denied firing live rounds at demonstrators.
However, the BBC's Jeremy Bowen at the scene says he saw soldiers fire on the protestors on Friday.
About 2,000 people had marched on the officers' club of the Republican Guard after passionate Friday Prayers at the nearby Rabaa-al Adawiya Mosque.
As the crowd grew, got angrier and pushed forward the troops opened fire-first into the air, then at the crowd our correspondent reports.....
Three people were killed and 69 injured in the shooting, the head of Cairo's emergency services said.
The Muslim Brotherhood's supreme leader, Mohammed Badie, addressed protestors near Rabaa al-Adawiya Mosque.
"We shall stay in the squares until we bring President Morsi back to power," he told a cheering crowd. Mr. Badie also denied reports that he had been arrested on Thursday.
Thousands of supporters of Mr. Morsi have been rallying in Cairo and other cities to demand is reinstatement.
In Qina in the south, security forces opened fire on protesters trying to storm a security building. At least two people were injured......

The Army is denying they shot at the Muslim Brotherhood mob and the head of the Muslim Brotherhood is free to incite the crowds to action.
Those are not good signs.
One Islamofascist faction against another. Sounds like a power struggle to me. No matter who wins and who loses, Iran ultimately wins this one.
Sure am glad Zero sent those 100 M1 tanks
The Egyptian military is prepared for this. After seeing the HUGE outpouring and demonstrations against Morsi, they acted and are doing so with the backing of the people.
If Morsi's supporters and the Muslim Brotherhood push them...they will absolutely eradicate them. They will not play "footsies" with them or try to have ROEs that attempt to "make friends."
They know what is at stake, and saw where it was going. Morsi was supporting Al Quida and the Al Quida rebeles in Syria and Libya. He was closing ranks with Hamas and preparing for war with Israel.
The Egyptian military and most people in Egypt do not want to go there, and will not go there. They know what it is likely to mean. They will fight the Islamic extremists and Muslim Bortherhood in Egypt first, and eradicate them before they let that happen.
This is what we are seeing in Egypt...and it is likely that these Islamic extremists will push it to a fight...one they will lose becuase I do not believe the Egyptian military will fight with kid gloves or with one armed tied behind their back.
A strong, in your face, and abject example needs to be made of these radical terrorists and Egypt has the means, and I believe the will, to do so. I pray they do...and set Obama and his cohorts, abettors, and handlers back by decades and give us time to regroup here and show them all the door ourselves.
Only 3?? Shucks, oh well!! its a start.
By the way the reporter did not get superficial Buckshot wounds in the head and legs. Buckshot does not make superficial wounds. Bird shot does if you are far enough away.
Perhaps that is what he was saying “bird shot” and I should have listened more closely when they interviewed him earlier..
There’s something on breaking news.com that says:
“Clashes reported between pro- and anti-Morsi protesters near Tahrir Square in Cairo-@washington post”
4 mins ago.......
Three very disappointed ambassadors for the religion of hate. No 72 virgins, unless they are very bad nuns.
About a week after the attack the Onion did a piece about the 911 terrorists finding themselves in the afterlife. Dateline Hell.
Damn. We shoulda sent Dick Cheney over there...
**evil grin**
Hmmm...
Does the Egyptian army use shotguns for crowd control or did the Muslim Brotherhood actually fire the shots?
Last I looked, the Egyptian army used AR variants.
>>Sure am glad Zero sent those 100 M1 tanks
Hopefully the “Hecho en China” electronics will “fail” at the designated time.
Hopefully.
Don’t EVER march on the officer’s club.
the streets were filled with anti-Morsi demonstrators Wednesday,2,00 pro -Morsi must be about one-half percent of Wednesday’s crowd.
I’m still a little cynical about the BBC reporters observations but he said he saw soliders shooting at the crowd after they fired shots in the air.....he used the words...
“leveling their weapons” and “shooting”. Were they MB in military uniforms maybe “moles” who were supposed to shoot...pure wild speculation on my part???????
He did not describe the weapons they used, but noted after the shooting continued for a time, they switched to using tear gas.
Heavy pressure on the Egyptian military from the Obama regime to treat the Muslim Brotherhood and Morsi with kid gloves.
Walid Shoebat surmises that Morsi was directly involved with Obama on the contrived attack on Benghazi as a rise to arrange a trade for the blind sheikh.
Well well, the media, who pretend to celebrate “democracy” in Egypt, seem to have a dog in this fight after all.
“Morsi supporters die”
Allah Akbar!
The MB wants to force the army to open fire and kill a few hundred..that’s what they are counting on..
Finally some good news for a change.
