Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) is on a collision course with House conservatives over immigration reform.
The five-term senator has stopped short of criticizing Speaker John Boehners (R-Ohio) vow to move immigration reform only if a majority of House GOP lawmakers are on board. Yet, McCain made a pointed comment last weekend that suggested he would only bite his tongue for so long.
I really dont feel it's appropriate for me to tell [Boehner] exactly how he should handle this. But I think Republicans realize the implications for the future of the Republican Party in America if we don't get this issue behind us, McCain said on Fox News Sunday.
Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa), who strongly opposes the Senate bill, took issue with McCains warning, but said he expects the 2008 GOP presidential nominee to continue challenging conservatives on the airwaves.
Most of what [McCain] will do, in my anticipation is through the media. He likes to drop a little bomb and watch how people will react, and hell do it again, King said in an interview with The Hill.
King said McCain should have learned his lesson when he tried to pass immigration reform with the late Sen. Edward Kennedy (D-Mass.)

Tell the senator to shove it
House to Mad Johnny: Just leave.
John McCain -
Doing the dirty jobs his DEMOCRAT friends won’’t do since 1983.
John, just switch parties and get it over with.
A tool like Juan could never become a Senator fair and square.
The Senator needs to be dropped over Syria so he can participate in the next war he wants to get the US involved in. If he wants to mess over the US, that is so much quicker and obvious.
This guy is a POS media whore! And I could give a rats A$$ about this traitors military service. I no longer feel the compulsion to preface every negative comment about this guy with the standard: “I applaud his military service...blah, blah, blah...”
This POS authored a bill to take away other Americans rights to free speech. Fu*k his military service!
A man in his position shouldn't have to guess and think he understands about important things.
He should KNOW about important things.
When John McCain refers to Republicans, he refers to his kind of Republican.
Most Republicans IMO are not John McCain style Republicans.
RINO’s Republicans who feel it is necessary suck up to a Kenyan President and Kowtow to illegal Hispanic Criminals who do not belong in this country in order to get elected.
John McCain is a traitor IMO, I don’t know where he got turned, but he has, I began to suspect him when he and John Kerry went to Viet Nam to find POW’s and MIA’s and came home with a trade dead and nothing else.
Whatta punk.
Show the above McCain ad of ~ 3 years ago to Juan and ask him just WTF he’s been doing since getting re-elected.
Refurbish a Vietnam era jet and send Juan over to Syria to fly missions for his beloved ‘rebels’.
McCain knows the legislative process, and he knows that the game is trying to get to [a House-Senate] conference, and the House has to find its own way to get to conference, said Feehery, a columnist for The Hill.
A Maverick is a stupid, anti-social cow that refuses to be with the herd......often killed and eaten by wolves.
Yep, that’s John alright!
If McCain is so keen on setting the House’s agenda, he ought to try and become a member.
McCain knows if it goes to Conference the Senate wins.
“Tell the senator to shove it.”
Shove it up his smelly Obama indeed.
FUJM.
