The Egyptian army has set a deadline of 4 p.m. Cairo time for the Muslim Brotherhood government of President Morsi to compromise with the people of Egypt (by stepping down.) Morsi refuses. 18 people were killed and 200 were wounded in clashes at Cairo University last night.
A Washington Post report from Cairo on dueling statements from Morsi and the army:
Waving his hands and shaking his fists in a 45-minute speech on national television late Tuesday, Morsi swore that he was committed to the democratic process that brought him to power and said that any attempts to subvert the constitution were unacceptable.
The army, in turn, posted a message to its Facebook page saying: We swear to God that we will sacrifice even our blood for Egypt and its people, to defend them against any terrorist, radical or fool.
In his speech, Morsi acknowledged that he had made mistakes during his year in office as Egypts first democratically elected president. But he appealed to Egyptians to give him more time to deal with the countrys problems.

Well the MB will become toast! The Egyptian Army will take care of their asses!
0b0z0’s buddies are being killed and arrested.
By election time there won’t be any MB left, let alone the nonexistent “moderate ones.”
He can now go for a two-hour meeting with Reggie whom he missed terribly after the great Reggie- time in Africa!
You ain’t seen nothin’ yet!
“George Soros Allies With the Muslim Brotherhood”
Hope he goes to Egypt for a little vacation. He should be equipped with tweezers to pick one MB.
They’ll be really hard to find.
The Arab version of the Tea Party. I like it.
“Ping to Presidents statement in 707. Comments, is he saying put him back in power?”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well...he always speaks out the two sides of his snake forked-tongued mouth so he can never be proved “wrong”, but YES, he is “concerned” that Morsi was deposed.
They reiterated the US ambassador statement: “Nevertheless, we are deeply concerned by the decision of the Egyptian Armed Forces to remove President Morsy and suspend the Egyptian constitution.”
Then, in another separate statement from the Obama adm, they said that the US ambassador’s earlier statement was “misinterpreted”-—even though they used that very language just moments ago in Pres Obama’s WH remarks.
Obama will NOT give up on the MB in Egypt govt unless Egypt outlaws them. They will insist that there is a “moderate” MB that opposed Morsi and deserves a seat at the table.
“In a related story this week, an Egyptian politician claims that our Ambassador to Egypt is part of a Muslim Brotherhood sleeper cell.
Raymond Ibrahim reports for Jihadwatch:
More information concerning the blatantly pro-Brotherhood position of the United States continues to emerge. Earlier, U.S. ambassador to Egypt Anne Patterson exposed the Obama administrations allegiance when she urged Egyptiansincluding the beleaguered Christian Copts not to protest against the Muslim Brotherhood as planned for June 30.
Now, in a recent live interview on Tahrir TV, former Egyptian Member of Parliament, Mustafa Bakari, exposed the relationship between Patterson and Khairat al-Shater, the deputy leader of the Muslim Brotherhood. Among other things, he pointed out how she recently visited him at his private residence as opposed to the partys headquarters where she likely discussed with him internal matters concerning Egypt, including how we [the U.S.] will stand with you [regarding the June 30 protests], adding that she sees and treats him as the true ruler of the nation.
Domo for the Ping.
“Obama” has got to be wetting himself, watching these events play out. The supreme irony is that if such a coup by the military were to occur against our own usurper, they wouldn’t have to suspend the Constitition; they’d be upholding it.
Hopefully there will be significantly fewer MB by morning.
Obama people. :(
“They will insist that there is a moderate MB that opposed Morsi and deserves a seat at the table.”
And here come the Salafis! They “agreed” on early elections!
I say, if they ever let them, the rebels and the army will just abort the gains.
0b0z0 loves abortion and would kill this baby in its cribb.
The Egyptians will tell Obama to eff off. They don’t care about his veiled threats and are more than happy to turn to China or Russia.
Just more bloviating by the pompous ass in the W H.
I post from the party
Good news screw you Obama
Al Jazeeras Egypt Bureau Raided, Personnel Arrested
Deadline ^ | 7/3/13 | Deadline
An Al Jazeera staffer told Reuters that at least five of his colleagues at the Mubasher Misr channel were arrested at the studio. The station was prevented from broadcasting from a pro-Mursi rally, and its crew there also was detained, Karim El-Assiuti said.
Egyptian joke of the day:
Nasser, Sadat and Mubarak tried to get rid of the Muslim Brotherhood. Only Morsi succeeded.
