Obama on Track to Bankrupt the Coal Industry and This Country
Townhall ^ | 7-1-13 | Morgan Brittany

Remember back in 2008 when Barak Obama said this? “If somebody wants to build a coal-fired power plant, they can. It’s just that it will bankrupt them. Under my plan, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket.” Well, well. It took almost five years and his re-election, but now it looks as though Obama’s prophecy is coming true.

Circumventing Congress and ignoring the will of the American people, Obama is forging ahead with his promises to thwart “climate change” through Executive Orders.

Why, one would ask, would he do this in the midst of an anemic economic recovery that could go on life-support at any moment? Is he completely tone-deaf as to what this country and the American people want and need at this time? Or is he seeing some positive signs that maybe, perhaps, things might be turning around and he needs to put the brakes on that? It sounds crazy, but why would anyone make “climate change” a priority right now?

The decisions that are coming out of the White House since his re-election are mind-boggling. Nowhere are there calls to “create jobs” or ease the tax burden on the American people. In fact it is just the opposite. We are looking at massive chaos with Obamacare, causing more people to be laid off or scaled back from their jobs; we have a frantic push to pass a gargantuan immigration bill that will legalize millions of illegal immigrants ultimately taking jobs away from citizens. (Employers don’t have to worry about Obamacare if they hire people on the path to “citizenship”), and finally we are going to come face to face with coal plants shutting down, skyrocketing energy costs, and billions of our tax dollars going to alternative energy companies like Solyndra.

Nothing that a few, select, targeted tariffs that our wise, benevolent, government deems fit can’t cure . . . .

Title should be “Obama on track to bankrupt the entire Nation!”

We need Tahrir type demonstrations in Washington calling for the dictator to resign or be removed.

Why aren’t the coal miners and operators marching in the streets of D.C.? This is their way of life that is being taken from them.

Perhaps they can be joined by the unemployed across the country, expressing their lack of faith in this government. We could call it “a vote of no confidence summer.” And then we could call for early elections.

Coal will hand on. It’s too valuable and energy packed a resource to dispose of. Under a GOP administration this EPA garbage can be undone. Just let pro-coal groups sue the EPA and don’t defend the case very well. Those losses pile up pretty fast and next thing you know...

Yes but 0bama is going to give them food stamps, 0bama phones and 0bama cars (I hear), so why continue to break you back in the coal mines?

The moron in chief is worried about climate change. Must be nice to not have to care about all the other things wrong with your administration and drop $60+ million on a vacation. Anywho...

Thought some might like to read this, if they haven’t already read about it:

Isn’t it ironic that the Egyptians are rioting again to rid themselves of their Islamist thug dictator but, here in America, we’re more than happy to let our Islamist thug dictator bankrupt and destroy our country.

So what’s the difference between them and us? We have American Idol, Big Brother and Survivor and they don’t. They care about liberty and religious freedom more than we do.

And, we can’t be bothered. After all, 2014 is coming and we can fix all the problems of America by re-electing the same people who created the problems and refused to put limits on what our Islamist thug dictator can do.

And, if that doesn’t work, well, no big deal. We’ll fix it in 2016 . . . or 2018 . . . or 2034 . . . . or when Scotty, Spock and Kirk beam down in the 26th century to find out what the h$ll is wrong with us? Why are Americans so lethargic and apathetic about what is happening to our country?

We, the people who own this government lock, stock and barrel are allowing ourselves to become slaves to power mad elitests who exclude themselves from the crap they generate to control us. We say nothing when they gleefully waste tax dollars as though they were weeds. We do nothing about the scandals and outrages our elected politicians engage in when they are supposed to be the smart, ethical, honest people trying to decide the best course for America’s future.

As we are plummeting through third world nations on our way to the bottom of the world’s dustbin of nations, be sure to wave at Aunt Mathilda in Botswana carrying her laundry to the river to wash.

In the interest of fairness, ONLY, the path to our bankruptcy was chosen long before Zero and his minions arrived on the scene. The Anointed One and the 0bamunists have certainly taken it to a whole new level, but the path was laid out by FDR.

OK!! Everybody pay attention!

Lesson for today:

1. The sun is 1,300,000 times as big as the earth.

2. The sun is a ball of fire that controls our climates.

3. The earth is a rock.

4. The earth is a speck in comparison to the size of the sun.

5. Inhabitants of the earth are less than specks.

Study Question: How do less-than-specks in congress plan to control the sun?

I recnetly returned from North Dakota where my mother in law celebrated her 100th birthday. Obama's climate change edict hit the fan. The Senator, Congressman and Govenor said "NO WAY"! North Dakota has six coal fired plant that provides most of the electrical power for the state.

The joke at the birthday picnic was that donkeys, horses and Wagon wheels that are behind the barn will be th sourse of future revenue!

Kidding aside this is one more edict that will fail.

I wrote my Congress person and suggested that if the Department paid @1.05 for each dollar spent to buy the neon light bulb the problem would be solved. 28 percent of electricity wis used for industrial, commercial and personal lighting. Replacing the current light bulbs with thses wenrgy efficient light bulb which claim to require on 66% of electricity to produce the same lumens would mena that ALL coal fired plants to be shut down. tey could be converted to coal gaisifaction plants which would produce natural gas gasoline etc.

Tariffs have nothing to do with domestic coal production. Trying to be witty? Not.

He is going after rural, southern independent mined voter. The Southern clime is intolerable to most without A/C. Especially to Yankee transplants that think 85 is hot. A/C use needs cheap electricity, lots of it. Reconstruction II.
