Will China tariff the coal imported form N.A.? That’s where it will end up.

That's not the question. The question is, how badly should we tax ourselves for something we regulated out of existence?

If it moves, tax it.
If it keeps moving, regulate it.
And if it stops moving, subsidize it.
--Ronald Reagan

Don't forget, we're talking about jahbs.

Making coal fired plants illegal is not a tax. I am not sure what to call that.

You don’t understand! Bring jobs back to America now! The problem will be solved (apparently).

“Coal will hand on. It’s too valuable and energy packed a resource to dispose of. Under a GOP administration this EPA garbage can be undone. Just let pro-coal groups sue the EPA and don’t defend the case very well. Those losses pile up pretty fast and next thing you know...”

Unfortunately, I have to disagree; the damage has been done. These companies commit serious money into these mines, and how can they do any long-range planning when the end of their business is no more than one election away?

I would strongly advise Dems seeing the sights this summer in their Priuses to remove their Obama 2012 bumper stickers before driving through KY or WV. The idiots around here know better than to go further east than Berea.

On the other hand - leave ‘em on!

Essentially. By then though foreign groups will be calling the shots and making most of the profit.

Obama is dedicated to ensuring Americans do not profit off of America.

Coal is pretty much all used for electricity so it ends up being the biggest residential energy source.   My take is the coal will just sit there as this is just another step in America's self-destruction.
