First lady Michelle Obama called for young people in both South Africa and the United States to be “citizens of the world” through the use of social media.
“For you guys to begin to talk to each other and realize that you have so much in common whether you are in Soweto or Houston or anywhere in the world there is so much we can do together,” the first lady said. “And I want you all to start thinking about being citizens of the world, and in order to do, that you’ve got to start reaching out, and this is just the beginning.” …

How about we train them to be good U. S. Citizens, and then branch out from there?
We don’t teach them bedrock values associated with our republic, but you want them to network mindlessly.

She would have mentioned Chicago, but some ofthe kids up there aren’t acting too swift these days.
Our representatives see themselves as leaders of the world so I guess they want their subjects to start seeing themselves as citizens of the world.
This is why the folks in Washington often put the interests of other nations and peoples ahead of that of Americans. In their arrogance, they truly have become mad with power and see themselves as in charge of everyone on the planet.
I wonder how long it will be before someone or some nation gets tired of the politicians in Washington telling everyone on the planet how to run their lives and push back?
That’s already started in a “soft power” way. Problem is, the up-and-comers have a socialistic bent themselves, and of course, the current administration is enabling that by dismantling the USA’s power.
