Something has happened to Kirsten Powers....for the better.

I rarely disagree with her anymore. She never ceases to surprise.

Kirsten might be coming over from the Dark Side.
She seems to have slowly moderated her ultra-leftist stance on most issues.

Every now and then she seems to backslide a little, but in general she seems to be much less reactionary than she was some years back.

Of course it is no doubt due in part to her disillusionment with Obama and the growing realization that she has been played for a sap.

Kirsten just lost her position as a liberal in good standing. She will now be roundly condemned.

Abortion is the PR coup of the century.

Men tell women that they just want to use their bodies because real women are more fun than inflatable dolls. Then they tell women it’s their responsibility if they get pregnant, and they can just kill the kids if they don’t want to raise them. The amazing thing is the men tell the women that treating them like sex toys is actually advancing womens’ rights.

And the women buy it and march in favor of it.

It’s as amazing as if someone actually convinced a racial segment of the population that being allowed to be slaves is a right and they will not be denied their right to be a slave.

I just don’t get it.

What about the "woman" in the womb who has no say about her right to future maturity and accomplishment?

Who is speaking for her Creator-endowed rights in this present time and space in all of history?

Today's "progressives," with all of their domination of academia and Far Left politics, seem to fit into a category described in an essay by T.S. Eliot on Virgil:

"In our time, when men seem more than ever to confuse wisdom with knowledge and knowledge with information and to try to solve the problems of life in terms of engineering, there is coming into existence a new kind of provincialism which perhaps deserves a new name. It is a provincialism not of space but of time--one for which history is merely a chronicle of human devices which have served their turn and have been scrapped, one for which the world is the property solely of the living, a property in which the dead hold no share." - T. S. Eliot

Ms. Powers is that extremely rare animal known as the thinking liberal. The thinking liberal is nearly extinct.

I don’t always agree with Ms. Powers, but she has the integrity to defend her positions, and engage in honest debate. For that, she has earned my respect.

As an aside the “Human Rights” movement is designedly vague it enables those who achieve power over others to blithely declare anything-including toothpaste-a “Human Right.” Compare this with the well described Rights enumerated by our American Constitution-the true “Human Rights.”One buys the “"Human Rights" arguments at their and their peoples peril; economically, politically, religiously, and culturally.

She has had a baby and knows what would happen to her if she killed it. She is also a Christian which is hard to maintain your liberal cult standing.

I added some additional words in bold I wish she had included for greater accuracy:

Human-rights movements have traditionally existed to help the voiceless and those without agency gain progressively more of our God given rights taken away and withheld from us by a tyrannical government.

The "War on Women" is a fabrication, but there is a war on unborn babies where there are actual casualties and deaths.

Good for Kirsten.

NOT wanting to murder Babies in the womb is a good bench mark to have that too many never even come close to meeting.

I am Proud for you Kirsten.

Who stands behind Windy? The answer is simple: no one with a modicum of goodness and sanity!

Bravo for Kirsten who has always seemed to me to be more of a moderate on issues that demand comment by a person possessing a working brain and a belief that God and goodness are involved in the recognition of evil.
