Hickory Hollow Mall in Antioch, TN (just southeast of Nashville) has become a ghost town in the past 10 years because of “teens”.
I read about that one on "deadmalls.com" a few months ago. IIRC, it was most recently sold for around 1% (yes, one percent) of its former assessed value. That tells me that there is absolutely no hope of that area staging an economic comeback. It is effectively behind enemy lines.
