Reading the comment section in all the blogs on Rachel Jeantel was, hmm, not-so utopian. I look at the GG demographic as progressive, open-minded people who value the fabrics of the American quilt, appreciate urban influence culture and would attend the same music festival. Unfortunately, life is not a concert.
This trial is painful for all of us who strive for a highly tolerant diversified society. Its not easy because we all move at different speeds and must practice patience while waiting on the same line. I would like to think that if we all have tickets, there might some pushing and shoving but no one wants a stampede.
Like any other peanut gallery, the opinions varied amongst all walks of life but there seemed to be a definite Mason Dixon line drawn in the sand. I can only speak for myself, but accusations of race baiting and bias scribing probably gave a duly noted but perplexing pause to most of the staff. Lets agree that this is an emotional case with an undeniable racial undercurrent. Somehow we all feel like eyewitnesses as well as victims.
There are those who are fed up from being a born suspect and those who are tired of carrying the so-called White Mans Burden they inherited. Still there are others who feel that everything black & white overshadows the hardships of their American integration. Attempts to arbitrate and give perspective to cultural nuances can be daunting when the logic of the criminal justice system often cancels out the very circumstances that caused the crime. There are enough case studies to discredit the expression that Lady Justice is blind. I would argue that the bitch can see quite well and the blindfold is literally sheer decoration.....

George Zimmerman 42.21% (5,898 votes)
Trayvon Martin 46.29% (6,467 votes)
I still don’t know. 11.5% (1,607 votes)
Interesting. Does it matter? Up to the jury. Only our own prejudices (one way or the other) will show up here. IMHO
Common sense says that the violent criminal, Martin, started the fight.
Zimmerman doesn’t look like much of a fighter to me.
Martin, on the other hand, was into MMA, and obviously beat the snot out of Zimmerman.
Since actual evidence counts for nothing to those twisting themselves into pretzels trying to convict Zimmerman of something he did not do, common sense ALSO tells us that Martin was the aggressor, but common sense doesn’t seem to matter either despite it being cited so much.
You’re right. It could go either way. IMO
The fight was started by the purple drank drinkin’ St. Skittles. And his petite girlfriend Rachel heard it all! She even heard the wet grass moving left to right, or something like that.
What a self absorbed posing article. Talk about your leading questions that are misleading and inaccurate. All of the author’s why did Zimmerman... are things that Zimmerman didn’t do. I guess he must be learning how to set up straw men from Obama. I can’t believe the author has bothered to watch the trial or get confused with the facts in any way.
Even with that article the poll demonstrates that people are not convinced which gives me some hope for logic and rationality.
George Zimmerman 41.6% (5,913 votes)
Trayvon Martin 47.02% (6,684 votes)
I still don’t know. 11.38% (1,618 votes)
Total Votes: 14,215
It doesn’t matter who “started” it. The only thing that really matters is that Zimmerman finished it.
Ya don’t spit into the wind, ya don’t tug on superman’s cape, and you don’t suckerpunch and go mma on a man with a gun.
‘highly tolerant diversified society” Who decides just what we need to be to tolerant of? I’m very ‘Tolerant’ of truth, morality, civility etc..
Yeah, big bad MMA ghetto thug St. Skittles grounding and pounding Zimmerman, thinking he’s going to finish him in one round. Unfortunately for St. Skittles, Zimmerman finished the fight with one round. Sucks sometimes when you assume something and you don’t get past ass.
I wonder were they came up with that “aged” photo of the little Martin kid.
Don't know 11.06%
Hey read the comments and add to them, I sure did. And the editorial comments by the webpage author are really funny, he is shocked that the opinion poll, on a LIBERAL site, is going against his obvious wishes and he is trying to stack the deck.
Delicious, isn’t it. Uncomfortable libs make my day.
I say when Martin goes over 50% they will take down the poll... LOL
Hey we can get TM up over 50% — log out and back in again, to that site, it lets you vote more than once.
Trayvon Martin 49.47% (7,438 votes)
I still don't know. 10.86% (1,633 votes)
