On Fox News Sunday, Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) predicted that the House Republican resistance to bringing up the Senate’s immigration reform would be overcome. “I believe that by the end of this year,” said Schumer, “the House will pass the Senate bill.” That would be a shocking development, given the fact that Boehner has already said that the Senate bill will not see the light of day in the House.
Schumer said that the Republicans would force Speaker of the House John Boehner to take up the bill to prevent the party from becoming demographically obsolete. “The national Republican leadership will tell John Boehner, if you don’t pass a bill, we’re going to be a minority party for a decade,” Schumer stated. He also added that Democrats would not sign off on any approach to immigration reform that was not comprehensive.
Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) made no such prediction. “It’s not going to be easy,” he stated, “but I really hesitate to tell Speaker Boehner how he should do this.”

He is correct that if this bill passes the Republicans will never win another election, but neither will the Democrats.

Forgive me, but have things gotten this twisted that Chuck Schumer telling republicans to do something in order to win elections, is not immediately understood to be a friggin joke?

The GOP will control the house until 2023.
It is impossible for them to lose. The Democrats would need a 2006 type landslide. For that to happen the GOP would need to pass amnesty or invade Syria and Iran.
Isn’t it nice how Schumer wants the GOP to blossom. He’s always looking out for their interests. /s/
Schumer is presumably telling Boehner this because he cares deeply about his Republican brethren and wants to help them win more seats.

It's the Democrats who are playing long ball. It's the Republicans who are chasing after each quicl win, and missing each time.
Why should I expect anything to change, as long as we have the current leadership in place?

2. state computers run a photo-match check to see if the same person has applied under different names.
3. they get investigated for ID theft and have to answer to a judge.
4. they get prosecuted under US law
