Everything about the George Zimmerman/Trayvon Martin trial is awful. Everything. First and foremost we saw the horrific pictures of a dead Trayvon Martin. The news media cameras turned to Trayvon’s parents as they showed them, hoping to catch their grief. I see Trayvon’s mother look away, and my heart breaks into a million pieces for her. I have a 16 year old son. I imagine for a moment it’s him, and I close my eyes with all the anguish I feel in just imagining it. Even if you feel Zimmerman should be acquitted, don’t forget the grief of these parents.
I’m following it, watching it live, trying to look at it objectively, the way a juror might. I follow along with twitter. Twitter seems to bring out the worst in humanity when it comes to race, on both sides. Trust me, if you are following this trial, don’t follow it on twitter.
Why do we feel a need in this society to tear apart people who are involved in a story? We know how everyone came down on Rachel, the friend of Trayvon who was on the phone with him that night. She was not the most articulate witness. God, I hope she didn’t put her name in the search engine of twitter. And believe me, it was bad stuff from both black and white people. Then there was a picture of the daughter of Zimmerman’s attorney eating ice cream with her Dad celebrating his work that day. Not the best idea, but does that justify photoshopping her hashtags with racial slurs to make her look bad? Because people were retweeting it, and thinking she wrote that. Then there were those trolling her friend’s pictures on Instagram looking for something to embarrass her with.....

The Media and the Politicians are involved heavily in this trial.

What you should keep in mind is that for every innocent ‘sharing’ by YOU, there are a hundred blog pimps who try to invade FR to use it to provide revenue by directing traffic to their blogs.
When the Gestapo police find that someone is just sharing a find on a decent blog, and not the ‘owner’ , or you straight out make that CLAIM in your first post, then you won’t have any problems like you describe.
Yes, things have changed. Pimping Blogs is a way of life. We have to have a defense. You are just learning to get through it. You are not the only one that has had to ‘stand trial’.

Yeah, I already went a few rounds with him back a couple weeks ago over my ClashDaily.com columns. Fact is, he can’t tell for certain if someone is “pimping a blog” because that’s what he accused me of doing, and I wasn’t. But based on what I was doing, I’m sure it fell right into the category of the exact behavior that someone pimping a blog would do. But I was completely frank about my motives for trying to drive readers there—I really need to see lots of “likes” and “shares” etc. on the site page itself to know and feel that what I’m writing is being read, appreciated, stacks up well against the traffic the other writers are getting, etc. I’ve since been posting the whole column, instead of an excerpt. I’ve yet to understand why people get belligerent over what category a post is put into, though.
Well, in the first place picture in question is used to depict to the public the way Martin appeared that night. Or is that just ‘my perception’? Why is that picture the one they used ?
He was wearing BLACK that night, the one in the picture is not black.
Maybe it’s a picture of Trayvon in a white hoodie, but where did it come from? DID they lighten the hoodie as well as his face ?
Look close at the picture. It looks like a photoshop job of pasting his face inside a picture of someone else in a hoodie. Where was this picture taken ? When?
The thing looks completely faked. I may be wrong, but it sure looks like more than just a lightening of his face.

BTW... one of the unwritten rules is that if someone calls you a FRiend, it means they have learned to trust you.
It does look faked. I saw a blog where they showed the original pic, his skin is way darker and shadowed. Of course it’s of a younger Trayvon, probably at least a year or more likely two before the night in question. CNN and even FOX and other media outlets, websites, etc continually use pics of him as a pubescent fresh-faced smiling boy, not the towering, glowering, gold-toothed manacing gangsta thug he was at 17 on the night in question. Only here and there do you see those pics.

Example: The Category - BREAKING NEWS.
It is the TOP category, so we have posters who will put something in BREAKING NEWS that is just a repeat of an old story. Much of the time they do this only because it's NEWS to them, and they don't bother to do a SEARCH to find out if it's new or not. There is no point in having a BREAKING NEWS CATEGORY if the threads listed aren't BREAKING NEWS.
Another example: RELIGION.
I think that one is self explanatory.
