Everything About The George Zimmerman/Trayvon Martin Trial Is Awful
The Houston Chronicle's Texas Sparkle ^ | June 30, 2013 | Kathleen McKinley.

Everything about the George Zimmerman/Trayvon Martin trial is awful. Everything. First and foremost we saw the horrific pictures of a dead Trayvon Martin. The news media cameras turned to Trayvon’s parents as they showed them, hoping to catch their grief. I see Trayvon’s mother look away, and my heart breaks into a million pieces for her. I have a 16 year old son. I imagine for a moment it’s him, and I close my eyes with all the anguish I feel in just imagining it. Even if you feel Zimmerman should be acquitted, don’t forget the grief of these parents.

I’m following it, watching it live, trying to look at it objectively, the way a juror might. I follow along with twitter. Twitter seems to bring out the worst in humanity when it comes to race, on both sides. Trust me, if you are following this trial, don’t follow it on twitter.

Why do we feel a need in this society to tear apart people who are involved in a story? We know how everyone came down on Rachel, the friend of Trayvon who was on the phone with him that night. She was not the most articulate witness. God, I hope she didn’t put her name in the search engine of twitter. And believe me, it was bad stuff from both black and white people. Then there was a picture of the daughter of Zimmerman’s attorney eating ice cream with her Dad celebrating his work that day. Not the best idea, but does that justify photoshopping her hashtags with racial slurs to make her look bad? Because people were retweeting it, and thinking she wrote that. Then there were those trolling her friend’s pictures on Instagram looking for something to embarrass her with.....

Including the fact that George Zimmerman was ever charged with a crime in the first place, under pressure.

If St. Tray would have had parental activity he would not be dead!

Yep, 40 days after the fact.

Can’t recall who was trying to say the sybrina wasn’t in the courtroom on Friday, but it was yet another lazy reporter.

After all the attempts by delahole to get his witnesses to suggest GZ wasn’t not harmed enough to warrant self defense and put it out there that he was ‘calm’ afterwards, I couldn’t help but note how very very very calm skittles mom looked as they flashed the photos of him after the fact.

The whole think stinks. My prayers are simply for the truth to revealed.

No matter that Rachel’s a liar.

Nothing to see—especially the $$$$ in mommy and daddy’s eyes.

Move along.

NO!!!!...This is a court of LAW.
Their FEELINGS have no bearing in this case.

Geeez. Couple of thoughts.

“Even if you feel Zimmerman should be acquitted, don’t forget the grief of these parents.”

Don’t raise a thug and these things won’t happen.

As for Rachel, don’t be lying in court.

I am not concerned with their grief at all. They should have raised their son better than they did.

“....don’t forget the grief of these parents.”

Right, the “trail of tears” straight to the bank from book deals and every other commercialization by the parents and their associated thug lawyers.

The article is BS. Trayvon’s natural parents didn’t even know him let alone give a damn about him. They treated him like a ping-pong ball. The only ‘parent’ who actually cared was his step-mom, Alicia Stanley and Tracy yanked
Trayvon from her care. For Tracy and Sybrina it’s always been about Tracy and Sybrina. For Mr Zimmerman it was an unfortunate encounter with a young on a downward spiral whose ‘natural’ parents had failed him.....big time.

None of these lying animals would give two s**ts if it was Zimmermans brains all over the sidewalk and this was a murder trial for Trayvon whose blood test would show he was jacked on Purple Drank.

It’s Trayvon’s “creepy ass cracker” RACISM that got him buried six feet under. I guess his parents didn’t do a very good job of educating him on conceal carry laws.. SURPRISE!! Going MMA on an armed person is about as STUPID a thing a person can possibly do.

Imagine how his parents would be feeling if Martin was on trial for murdering Zimmerman. Would they be screaming he was being railroaded due to racism?

Rachel Jeantel was 18 years old when she decided to lie to the police and to perjure herself in a deposition in a matter concerning the death of a friend. She then lied to that friend's parents and concealed information from them.

She was old enough to know better. She is also old enough to have learned to speak and write English at a middle school level of proficiency, instead of spending all her spare time getting drunk and high and then driving.

This is an issue of character.

What REALLY stinks about this event is that THE NEWS MEDIA WAITED FOR GEORGE ZIMMERMAN'S WOUNDS TO HEAL BEFORE PUBLICIZING IT, to give the appearance George's actions were totally unfounded and to portray whites as racists (even though George is actually Hispanic)..

“Even if you feel Zimmerman should be acquitted, don’t forget the grief of these parents.”

I understand the sentiment.

But, somehow they took a break from their grief to trademark some t-shirt slogans.

And, Tracy Martin found time to have his gang tattoo covered over with praying hands.

And, although the amount in the wrongful death settlement is unknown, it is believed that the HOA in the neighborhood agreed to shell out a million bucks to the Martins.

The Martins come from an urban ‘culture’ where kids are a meal ticket. More kids equals more EIC, or more WIC, or more TANF, or more SNAP. And, they have quite naturally perpetuated that in their actions after Martin’s death.

I really would like to empathize with them...but I can’t.

F*** those sorry excuses for parents. If they had done their job, their pet human wouldn't be six feet under, and they wouldn't be looking sorry while waiting for a monetary settlement.

You are exactly right. Justice is supposed to be blind, justice should have no knowledge of the ethnicity of those involved, the law is the only thing that should matter in a court. Feelings have no relevance to the law.

Zimmerman is screwed either way, his life is ruined. The perp is dead, I have no tears for him. The facts in this case are if you get on top of someone and bounce his head off the concrete that person is legally entitled to use deadly force to stop the aggression. That is what the law says.

The media have a talent and prediliction for magnifying some events and minimizing others. What a tragedy, grieving parents, tears, commentators, thinkers writing essays, blogs. And some here are buying the melodrama. It sells Coca Cola, latte coffees and small pickup trucks. Well, every day, every night in America dozens, yes, dozens Trayvons are murdered by other Trayvons, with no sensation, with no media coverage, except to list the numbers of dead, and no telebized court trials, if there are trials at all.
