Paul Ryan Leading House for 'Amnesty' Deal
NewsMax ^ | June 29, 2013

Paul Ryan, the Republican congressman and former vice-presidential candidate best known for his war on spending, is emerging as his party's leading champion of immigration reform in the U.S. House of Representatives.

With Senate passage of a sweeping immigration bill imminent, Ryan has been meeting with House conservatives to persuade them that reform of the immigration system, including a path to citizenship for illegal immigrants, is an economic necessity and critical to fixing the nation's fiscal problems.

Ryan, a potential 2016 presidential contender, sees himself as a "bridge builder" between immigration advocacy groups and reluctant Republicans, he said in an interview with Reuters.

He argues that the immigration system is broken and must be overhauled. "It doesn't work for national security. It doesn't work for economic security," Ryan said.

I am embarrassed that I stood outside in the cold, listening to Paul Ryan. I made phone calls from call centers for him and (gulp) Romney.

My Romney/Ryan shirt is now my painting shirt.

I didn’t leave the Republican party-it left me.

Here is my issue with the whole thing and why I’m conflicted. If we don’t do this then we are left with the current system. The current system allows illegals access to federal and state benefits, a border that is not at all protected and many other issues. On the other hand I believe that we should enforce current law, go after business’ that hire illegals, and close the border.

In light of the Supreme Court and their verdicts on gay marriage I feel like there is no better option, I realize that’s surrendering but I just don’t see any other hope.

Who next? They’re all showing themselves as RINOs and fools. I sincerely hope the voters make all these a$$*&^#@ pay with the loss of their seats in the next election.

What I fail to hear is enforcing the current Laws on the books. Hey, Paul, what’s MORE unenforced crap going to give us??

Funny how the bills in the senate and the house have been championed almost 100% by republicans. Once they become law and the general public realizes that its a total sham, the democrats will just blame it on the republicans.

Its brilliant! Lucy with the football yet again...

You’re prob. still ref: low-info. voters....on BOTH sides.

Unfortunately, the DEM camp votes in lock step. The GOP, for the most part, do the same.

It’s those of us that (can) see past the party affiliation that make the difference.

I was, one of few, who didn’t vote for the (D) or (R) presidential ticket, as I saw not a dimes worth of difference between the two Liberals (but, OH, listen to the howls of the (R) plantation, even here)

If there is one thing the DEMs are good for, is keep their plantation still on the plantation. I have YET to hear of anything BUT lip-service from the opposition party

Not only did this scumbag Ryan use the term “undocumented immigrants”....

Long before Romney picked him for VP, Ryan voted for TARP, expressed a desire for “means testing” for social security (in other words, changing the rules many years after you were forced to pay into that giant Ponzi scheme), and he expressed support for adoption of children by homosexual couples.
To hell with this guy.

I did hear him advocate means testing and eliminating certain deductions during the election and it sounded like tax increase on the wealthy....no wonder Romney lost!

Contemplating things further, it’s not ‘funny’ in the least.

Congress passes ‘law’ upon ‘law’ that is never enforced, but expects, every 2 years, for the suckers to pony up $$ to re-elect the same son-of-bitches that allowed SOME (Animal Farm reference: Pigs) to get away with ‘murder’ (violate our intimation laws, reduce our wages (unskilled), document fraud for SS, W-2, etc.).

Hey, GOP, since you’re ‘posed to represent ME, and those that put you into office...What do *I* get in this deal? Greater unemployment? Reduced wages? A Rule of Law that is pandered? Disenfranchisement of those that PAY taxes?

Wonder to what extent this reflects interest of the really big Republican money, which largely favors heavy immigration out of thirst for cheap labor. At any rate, I doubt he’d have ever had much of a chance at winning the nomination in 2016. He lacks charisma and there’s something vaguely creepy about him. Seems frivolous, I suppose, but a good number of voters base their decision heavily on charisma and personality.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with the current system. If they enforced current law, there would be a fence and deportations would be rapid and sure. They would be defending States from the invasion, deny anchor baby status. They would arrest people using stolen SSN# and jail then deport them.

But if you are naive enough to believe they will enforce new laws better than they do the old ones, then God help us all.

It would seem that the mental defect found in all Democrats is actually resident in nearly all who enter politics. For some, it isn’t fully developed so the brains allow them to lean conservative for a short while. Then, it is possible that close proximity to others with the defect causes it to “bloom”.
