A prosecution witness testified in the George Zimmerman trial Friday that he saw the former neighborhood watch captain on the bottom of a mixed martial arts-style fight with 17-year-old Trayvon Martin the night Martin was fatally shot.
Jonathan Good said he heard a faint noise coming from the back of his home in the Retreat at Twin Lakes on Feb. 26, 2012. When he heard a louder noise, he went outside to investigate. He said he saw two men engaged in a tussle...
Good was the 17th witness to take the stand in the trial of Zimmerman, who is charged with second-degree murder in the shooting of Martin in Sanford, Florida. Zimmerman told police he followed the teenager because there had been some recent break-ins in the area. He says he was forced to shoot Martin during their confrontation in self-defense.
On the trials fifth day, Good recounted being 15 to 20 feet away from the fight between Zimmerman and Martin. Although he couldnt make out the faces of the people on the ground, Good said he could make out the color of their clothes.
In crucial testimony that appears to buttress the defenses argument, Good said the person on top during the fight was wearing a black top like the black hoodie sweatshirt Martin had on that night, and the person on the bottom was wearing red. Zimmerman was wearing a similar color that night.
Good said it seemed like the person on the bottom was yelling for help. Good said he saw the person on top straddling the person on the bottom and the person on top was moving their hands in a downward striking motion that looked like what he called a ground and pound, a term associated with MMA or mixed martial arts fighting.

black gangs have shootouts with hundreds of rounds fired and the only one hit is a 6 year old down the street.
and now they want to start a race war?
Good luck with that....
Uh...That’s why I like dogs better than cats.
I can’t believe the prosecution put this guy on the stand. What were they thinking? Whether you believe this guy or Ms. Creole Porkchop, the prosecution practically nuked their own case. What is it about “reasonable doubt” the prosecution doesn’t understand. If some kid has you on the ground and is punching your lights out and you have a gun in your hand, why would you *not* use it? You have no assurance the puncher is not trying to kill you.
The likelihood of Zimmerman prevailing is pretty remote. If,by chance,he's acquitted...or the state throws up its hands after a couple of hung juries...Attorney Corporal Holder will take a crack at him.He picks the judge...picking an OJ-type jury isn't difficult...the entire resources of the United States government dropped on top of him.Just think Osama Obama. His current title proves irrefutably that in this country race trumps *everything*.
Dem Troll
No one was ever running liar.
George kept his distance and actually lost him when the hoodlum doubled back on him and jumped him.
By financial necessity I live in a black neighborhood. I have had very little problem with neighbors in the several years I’ve lived here. But I am concerned that if riots ensue in the event of a Zimmerman acquittal I may become a target. Do I have a reason for concern? I do not have a gun.
So that was why the prosecution wanted to say Zimmerman was doing mixed martial arts... So they can claim he was on top doing the ‘pound and ground’
You need to be out of the area with anything you hold dear/pf value until the rioting ends...maybe longer.
I don't think Mr Zimmerman intended to use the gun at all. When the punk saw or felt the gun, it was then a do or die moment for Mr Z. (Didn't they struggle over the gun?)
You need to move out in the country even if you have to live in a trailer.
Buy yourself a gun and get at least proficient with it. If you look around you can find a good used one at a fair price. I recently bought a Revelation single barrel shotgun for $50 including tax. It was rusty but mechanically sound. It was actually made by Savage and was a little better than standard as it has an auto ejector.
After cleaning it up, it doesn’t look bad at all and shoots really well. It is a 20 gauge and the reason I got it was I already had 24 boxes of various high velocity shells.
All I know is, if Zimmerman ever, just once, uttered the “n” word, he’s toast.
Evidence nor fact matter to liberals
I too believe the fix is in. I wonder if the Federals think starting a race war could be the solution to that pesky old Constitution.
I was amazed at Hannity tonight. He reshowed his interview with Zimmerman from last July which was very convincing, and had three lawyers on, all of whom thought a srong case for self-defense was being made so far.
What kind of country have we become where the fear of feral yutes rampaging has the effect of chilling justice?
He’s just a Creepy Ass Cracker, his testimony doesn’t count.
Sen. Phil Gramm's declaration is out of date. Echoing Prof. John Lott, "more guns, less crime."
Or IOW, there's no such thing as too many guns.
The same kind that call shooting someone in the back while fleeing self defense.
I bet the prosecution will turn up with an autographed copy of Paula Deen cookbook signed “With love to my best friend, George.” Game, set, match.
The prosecution lawyer's bosses decided to charge Z, and these hapless lawyers got the short straw, with nothing to work with. Funny thing is, WE are paying for the prosecution... both their bosses and their lawyers (and the judge, the court personnel, and so on...). So, it's just a big throw-away of tax dollars to try and put an innocent man in jail (more tax dollars) for 30 years.
