The Department of Health and Human Services today released the final text of the final adjustments to the Obamacare regulation that requires virtually all health-care plans to provide cost-free coverage for sterilizations, contraceptives and abortion-inducing drugs.
Catholics and Evangelical Christians have objected to the regulation, arguing that it violates their First Amendment right to the free exercise of religion. The Catholic Church teaches that sterilization, contraception and abortion are all intrinsically immoral. Evangelical Christians believe that abortion takes an innocent human life and is thus wrong.
The final regulation issued today provides no accommodations at all for individual Catholics and other Christians who morally object to the mandate. It also makes no accommodations for private for-profit employers who morally object to the mandate. Catholic and other Christian individuals in the United States will now be forced by the Obama administration to get coverage for sterilizations, contraceptives and abortion--whether they want it or not.
The Obama administration's mandate says: They have no choice.
His final word? Really? Woot!
I’m with you on this! Twelve months at best. Things are moving very fast and Obama doesn’t want to lose any advantage or let opposition grow, particularly while the Dems have a majority in the Senate - not that he cares what the legislature does anyway - and while he has full control over the enforcement agency (the IRS).
The Supreme Court may well have other ideas on this issue.
THIS SCOTUS? Really?
Most of the people who voted for and supported Obamacare are still in office.
If I were a liberal Democrat, I’d be laughing and crapping on everyone too.
No one anywhere is lifting a finger to stop them from doing anything.
I've asked numerous times what such observations are intended to accomplish; obviously the self-identified religious people who vote for Dems aren't posting here. I can't control what those who say they share my faith do.
But, sadly, many "Catholics" DO vote for abortion, homosexuality, illegal immigration...not really any way to argue against that.
YA! Wilkomen, zu stalag Amerika! Schmutziger Hund.
Can “Civil Disobedience” be far behind?
All, some, most, a few?
The solution was to vote for the Mormon who endorsed both gay marriage and signed Romneycare into MA?
The problem isnt that the Church failed to attack Obama - the problem is that Republicans have failed the Church.
The Catholic betrayal of our freedoms goes back far longer than the recent election.
They have been preaching the gospel of envy ever since the new deal.
Catholics were warned that allowing a secular government to accrue so much power in the name of "helping the poor" would eventually lead to the state having the power to persecute the church.
The warnings were ignored, and now the church must face the redemptive suffering it brought on itself.
It’s shocking to see Bible prophecy fulfilled so rapidly. It’s speeding up...
Can’t say you’re wrong.
Obama sold his soul a long time ago.
You won't have a choice if the graduates of your schools don't graduate with a degree, or diploma, that's recognized by other schools.
We do significant business with homeschooled and public school students as supplementation.
Parents want to be sure their kids are prepared. O can’t do a lick about it.
If you look at the actual data - if the entire electorate were composed only of Catholics, Obama would have lost in 2012. Obama lost PA, NY, OH, FL, VA, NC; in every single swing state, Catholics rejected Obama.
