Memorial to honor 50,000 bumble bees that died in Oregon parking lot

Fifty thousand bumblebees will be honored at a memorial Sunday in the same shopping center parking lot southwest of the Portland, Oregon, where most of the insects died earlier this month.

Rozzell Medina, of Portland, said on a Facebook page that the event will "memorialize these fallen lifeforms and talk about the plight of the bees and their importance to life on Earth," The Oregonian reported.

Sorry. I said I DIDN’T see the one for the deer/moose/whatever. It was some familiar critter in/near boulder co that was killed and the town folk held some sort of candlelight vigil for it to celebrate it’s life. Not quite as amusing as the tree thing. If I find it I’ll post it.

I've come to the conclusion that humans thrive best under adversity and tough conditions, however when they live in times of comfort and relative ease like we have today, the lack of stimulation causes their brains slow down and we get things like memorials to honor fallen bumble bees
