As part of its drive to retain congregation numbers, the Church of England is training its clergy to create a "pagan church" where Christianity will be "very much in the center," a British newspaper reports.
The mother church of the worldwide Anglican Communion is seeking to create new forms of Anglicanism with which people of alternative beliefs should feel comfortable, according to The Telegraph.
"I would be looking to formulate an exploration of the Christian faith that would be at home in their culture," the daily quotes the Rev. Steve Hollinghurst, who is advising the denomination in its new endeavor, as telling the BBC.
What the church is looking at is "almost to create a pagan church where Christianity was very much in the centre," he adds.

They're in desperate competition.
We can only hope that Conservative Christian Africans take over the hollow shell of this church and return it to it’s roots.
Is this different than a pagan-centered Christian church?
Not really. Neither of them contain Christianity.
There is a reason why three Anglican bishops and 500 English parishes have requested entry into the Catholic Church.
No wonder Islam is making headway in Britain—filling a spiritual vacuum.
The problem is that churches, for practical reasons, are obsessed with appealing to people. Membership is down, they can’t pay their bills, so they want to do something different to fill those pews. God didn’t tell us to do that. He told us to boldly proclaim the Gospel, and if people wouldn’t receive it, to shake the dust off our sandals and move on.
We are supposed to be on the narrow path, but the churches want to widen the road so that they can collect more tolls.
A fine choice. Paganism or satanism.
Jesus was always worried about making folks feel comfortable with God’s Church on Earth

they best return to the faith of our fathers - tested and true!! Somewhere along the way it has been lost.
