President Barack Obama on Thursday praised the Supreme Court's ruling on same-sex marriage as a "victory for American democracy" but clashed with his African host over gay rights in a sign of how far the movement has to go internationally.
Obama said recognition of gay unions in the United States should cross state lines and that equal rights should be recognized universally. It was his first chance to expand on his thoughts about the ruling, which was issued Wednesday as he flew to Senegal, one of many African countries that outlaw homosexuality.

Papi Nbodj, a 19-year-old student who stood by the road to the presidential palace to see Obama's arrival, said homosexuality is against the religious beliefs of most in Senegal.
"We are in a Muslim country, so we certainly cannot have it here," he said. "And for me it's not OK to have this anywhere in the world."

I also think we should stop eating shell fish too. We need to follow the Bible perfectly so that the left can no longer bash us for using passages that we feel we want to. I don’t understand why we don’t follow the Bible word for word. I know I have given up shell fish a few years ago so that when I say that Homosexuality is a sin and they try to stump me. I say well I don’t eat shell fish either and boy do they shut the heck up. I never understood why conservative christians don’t follow the Bible more.
Obama doesn’t have to be ‘told’ ... he volunteers.
I do not approve of Islam and some of its more terrible ideas—BUT I honor the dedication of their followers who will die to get their will heard. A bit like the Kamakazi Pilots in WW II who would crash their obsolete planes into Allied ships. No one mocks Islam because you could get killed doing so. Imagine a Christian Group that dedicated today—well, maybe in Russia...

There is NO valid reason - biblical, moral, financial, or otherwise - to blow up innocents (or gays, or Christians, or fornicators) and when some islamic nutjob says "And for me it's not OK to have this anywhere in the world." - that's what he talking about - murder. And people who show any support for that plan are not much better than those they praise.

Napscoordinator, the dietary laws were specifically abrogated by God in the book of Acts.

You may not like the Bible, or Christians, but do be aware that greater minds than yours or mine, far greater, have read and understood it in its entirety, and we are not picking and choosing what laws to keep and what to ignore. The Bible is consistent and clear. God does not make his will for us obscure. Whether we wish to abide by it or not is another matter.

Oops. I guess I needed to ready your entire post instead of the first paragraph when I posted back to you. I guess bottom line is to trust in God. It is so tough with all the evil in the USA. I swear it used to be so easy. My kids are good thank goodness (hopefully they stay that way). We really put God first in our lives which is so helpful in parenting.

In order to promote gay marriage, the Democrats have created the false image of anti-homosexuals as being primarily white Evangelical Christian racists, so busy clinging to their guns and bibles they can’t think straight.
Yet, lo and behold, the entire continent of Africa is anti-homosexual. Not to mention that it was African-American voters in California who played a major role in the passage of Proposition 8, which banned gay marriage.
Somehow it turns out that the bad old American white guys have a lot of company.
