A teenage friend of Trayvon Martin was forced to admit today in the George Zimmerman murder trial that she did not write a letter that was sent to Martin's mother describing what she allegedly heard on a phone call with Martin moments before he was shot.
In a painfully embarassing moment, Rachel Jeantel was asked to read the letter out loud in court.
"Are you able to read that at all?" defense attorney Don West asked.
Jeantel, head bowed, eyes averted whispered into the court microphone, "Some but not all. I don't read cursive."
It sent a hush through the packed courtroom.
Jeantel, 19, was unable to read any of the letter save for her name...
During nearly two hours of cross examination Wednesday in which he tried to raise questions about her version of events and accused her of telling several lies under oath, including about her whereabouts during Martin's wake.
"Under oath, you created a lie and said you went to the hospital?" asked West.
"Yes," responded Jeantel. She said she lied because she didn't want to see the body.
Jeantel became increasingly agitated and scoffed when West told her that she would have to continue testifying.
She is seen as a critical witness to the prosecution because she is the only person able to say that Martin claimed that he noticed a strange man following him and that he was scared. Jeantel said Martin described the stranger as a "creepy ass cracker."
Jeantel said Martin, 17, was walking home during halftime of the NBA All-Star Game when he became unnerved because he was being followed.

She can’t read cursive, but apparently knows the word ‘cursive’. I didn’t when I was 19. And I was studying at a German Univeristy at that age.

Three points:
1. Eric Holder got involved with this. He wants race riots - or at least the threat of race riots, to keep the politicians in line and/or create martial law eventually.
2. Crump is after the money. It’s the civil lawsuits that he cares about. To have that he’s got to endure a criminal trial.
3. If the jurors are stupid or can be convinced that they will create riots if they acquit, they might do so even though we all know this is trumped-up. Having CNN folks claim that the emperor’s new clothes are gorgeous (that this witness is credible) is part of the demoralization process - where a person is incapable of seeing what is right in front of their eyes.
She will go straight to the welfare line where you and I will support her and her increasing number of brats until the day she dies.
I puke upon this person and all that she represents.

IMO basically defense attorney Don West proved her testimony is worthless considering she cannot read a letter she claims to have written. (Technically isn’t that perjury
?) A COMPLETE bungle by the prosecution I believe.

This is the real story. The union controlled public schools in urban areas are “graduating” hordes of functional illiterates that form a permanent underclass mostly black and Hispanic. When will minorities realize they are being played for fools by the Democratic party and its hypocritical leaders? Obama, Pelosi, Kennedy, Biden and Rahm Emmanuel all vigorously oppose school vouchers for the urban poor but of course send thier kids to high quality private schools. The liberal lowlifes also manage to locate most abortion clinics in minority neighborhoods. This is the message Republicans should be preaching daily.
And these later become civil servants working for state and federal government, become unionized and can’t be fired.
