Day 14 – (Week 3) Zimmerman Trial – Witness Discussion Thread

Today, June 27th, is DAY #14 (of 3rd week) State of Florida V. George Zimmerman case.

Yesterday Witness #8, Rachael Jeantel, did indeed take the stand. She will be back today to complete her testimony. This is the state’s key, and most important witness. This is also the witness we have exhaustively researched. Having quietly followed her social media, and having talked extensively, to her school classmates for over a year.

But before we discuss Jeantel, a summary:

[Yesterday] the morning saw two of the State’s witnesses testify, Jane Sudyka and Jeanee Manaloo, both of whom were residents of Twin Lakes at the time of the incident and who appeared to testify as to their observations that night. Manaloo’s cross-examination continued until after lunch, when she was followed by brief testimony from Ramona Rumph, the custodian of records for the police emergency call recordings.

Finally, the last of the State’s witnesses for the day was Rachel Jeantel, otherwise known as “Dee-Dee”, as Trayvon Martin’s “16-year-old girlfriend,” and as the last person to speak with Martin before his deadly confrontation with George Zimmerman. (continue reading)

West showing Jeantel phone records of her and Martin's calls that night. Asking her about the end of the phone call when the struggle started, Jeantel says she doesn't know how the call ended, could have been dropped.

Now gets to time of calls. About twenty seconds elapsed between calls (when Martin said he would run), only gap in phone calls during incident.

No, I think he realizes all that perfectly. He just wants the jury to really understand that the prosecution built their case on the testimony of people like Dee Dee.

She said that she does not read cursive — but she signed it with a phony name and the prosecuting attorney presented it as legitimate in a legal proceeding.

Which destroys the foundation of that evidence.

j’s style of answering is discombobulating west, the judge, and the prosecution.

west is trying to reconcile the phone record timeline with j’s testimony. j being boxed in by west. it’s difficult since it requires studying and understanding the implications of the phone record timeline.

i’m not totally sure j totally understands she is being boxed in...

And yet - her testimony in open court yesterday had no resemblemce at all to this previous statement.

The only problem Z’s attornies have here is to not be too over the top in exposing this fat hoop-wearing thugette for the liar she is.

Good morning. Something that occurred to me last night after signing off was that TM’s use of racial slurs for whites can show TM’s predisposition for violence towards them and might have played a role in attacking Z without any real provocation.

There is no way Jenatel knows whether TM was running to his home or not....he is not going to say ‘i’m running home’. She told him to run home, and she is assuming everything else. IF she says that TM says “I”m running HoME”...then that’s ridiculous.

The judge is a biased beotch. She has been from the beginning and I feel sure she will continue to be throughout the entire trial.

She has been biased in her rulings as well - allowing the prosecution to hand-pick some of the 911 calls to establish GZ's state of mind - but can they admit TM's facebook, tweets, etc. to show *his* state of mind? Hmmmmm NO!

The phone call duration should show whether TM headed straight home or dawdled in order to initiate a confrontation with GZ.

As a side note: what manner of deviant human being does it take to pull off the railroading of an innocent man as part of your job, and never even blink? How do they sleep at night? How do they relate to normal human beings, their spouse, their kids, their congregation... ?

Yeah, she is going overboard to be biased so that when trial is over, no one can accuse her of not being fair.
