Trayvon Martins father Tracy has reportedly attacked a supporter of George Zimmerman, mouthing an expletive (motherf***er) during pre-trial proceedings outside the courtroom during an alleged incident relayed by Zimmermans defense attorney Mark OMara as he argued that Martin and Trayvons mother should be barred from the courtroom if Zimmermans parents were.
As George Zimmermans trial wears on, the incident in which Tracy Martin allegedly attacked a Zimmerman reporter seems, like many, to skip over what feels to be the actual lurking headline within the story something more like:
Trayvon Martins Dad Tracy Somehow Miraculously Not Punching Everyone In The Courtroom In The Face, Continuously, As Zimmerman Trial Progresses.
Debate aside, the Trayvon Martin case is one for which its hard to imagine a worse parental nightmare. People without children bristle at the notion that parenthood imbues one with any special ability to feel compassion, empathy, or projected sadness, and its true that all people have likely experienced fierce and vulnerable love like the love a parent feels for a child.
But the eternal curse of a parent is the one Trayvons mom and dad have to know so intimately that fear that as they step out into the world, they will be slow to develop the ability to detect and evade the ill-intentioned. That if this horrible happenstance occurs, they will come to harm much like Martin did and we will be unable to intervene and protect them.
So too in life it feels like nothing is so unfair as compounded pain, and when Martin died at the hands of Zimmerman that night in 2012, the series of insults added to the Martin and Fulton families injury had yet to begin....

I do feel for his parents, but given that homicide is the leading cause of death for young black men, they should have taken better steps to stop him from becoming a gansta punk.
I’m gonna laugh my ass off in 10 years when Trayvon’s absentee father is arrested for drug charges or something of the like. It’ll be like watching OJ’s descent.
They are family of the “victim” and thus are allowed to appear.....We need to be careful and not fly off the handle. This article is inflammatory by saying “attacked”.... The person said that it was said “under his breath” as they brushed past each other and the father saw his badge that said family. Lets just use the facts that actually happened and not make it worse than it was....
Hey, “Dad”...
perhaps if you’d married his mother and were an actual father, St. Trayvon would be alive today.
Oh,OK...I guess it's easy to tell that I'm not a lawyer. So because the parents are witnesses *no* member of the family can attend? If so I find that curious...although I suppose I understand why the witnesses themselves can't attend.
i’m hoping i am still alive and well in 10 years.
Yep. The article is pure ad misericordium. If he can’t control himself he can stay home. Sounds like he hurt the prosecution with his anger-control problem. Apple-tree. Self defense.
So mamma can influence the jury with her tears.
Yeah, the apple didn’t fall far from the tree, did it?
No show of emotion can, in the end, deny what is becoming a growing reality.
But given the general failure of critical thinking, and the nature of low-information individuals that find their way onto a jury panel, perhaps a hung jury is the best we may hope for. A guilty verdict would mean a heightened press for the repeal or invalidation of “Stand Your Ground” and the “Castle Doctrine” support for self-defense. An innocent verdict would fuel the racial tensions that already exist, but this is not a black-on-white encounter, it is a black-on-Latino confrontation.
A hung jury potentially leaves either of these issues up in the air.
The Anthony’s were witnesses too. They were able to attend their daughter Casey’s trial. Just sayin.
Same here. I’ll be in my early 40s, but being a white male, I’m going to become a target in short order, I fear.
What complete crap. St. Skittles was a thuggish POS and his “parents” bear some of the responsibility. No surprise that he isn’t dealing with it well...
If I lived in the area, I'd hang out just to greet the grieving father and express my condolences - dressed appropriately.
Black “culture” killed Trayvon. The parents ought to have done everything they could to keep him away from it, but like so many blacks of every age group and condition, if they didn’t openly embrace it, they failed to speak out against it.
While Trayvon Martin is still responsible for his own actions, when I look at the reprehensible people who raised him, I wonder if he really ever had a chance to be a law-abdiding productive member of society.
His parents have behave disgracefully from the beginning and even before GZ was forced to shoot him. If they had even minimally supervised their out of control teen, while he was on a 10 day suspension from school, he wouldn’t have been in a position to attack GZ and cause his own death.
It does seem unfair though.
Travon’s family could elicit sympathy from the court, while Zimmerman’s can’t.
Charge him with contempt of court and throw him in jail.
Tracy Martin = Epic Failure
LOL you failed your son on many leveles. .
