As a strategic matter, I think they would have been better to let her go on with her filibuster. Eventually, they are going to vote on it, and they either have the votes or they don't. Stopping her on a technicality could just create some cause celebre about how unfair it was.

It’s a scary time for the pro-life movement. The Supreme Court could be set to deal it a horrible blow tomorrow.

F her. And who cares anymore that the Left will claim some grand injustice anytime they lose a vote?!

Not as unfair as leaving the state so the voting body would not have a quorum.

She is a real loser. Hope the next election shows that.

It's a special session of the legislature with a specific termination date: midnight, tonight.

If she had dragged it out until midnight, no more business could've been transacted.

After all the drama and BS, keep one thing in mind when we hear how the Texas proposal is some extremist position. Abortion law in leftist, socialist, feminist Sweden is far more strict than the anything being considered for Texas.

In Sweden;
“The current legislation is the Abortion Act of 1974 (SFS 1974:595). This states that up until the end of the eighteenth week of the pregnancy the choice of an abortion is entirely up to the woman, for any reason whatsoever. After the 18th a woman needs a permission from the National Board of Health and Welfare (Socialstyrelsen) to have an abortion. Permission for these late abortions is usually granted for cases in which the fetus or mother are unhealthy. Abortion is not allowed if the fetus is viable, which generally means that abortions after the 22nd week are not allowed. However, abortions after the 22nd week may be allowed in the rare cases where the fetus can not survive outside the womb even if it is carried to term. The issue is largely settled in Sweden and the question of the legality of abortion is not a highly controversial political issue.”

So the American radical left is deeply oppressed by a policy that a Swedish feminist finds satisfactory.

I think Dewhurst just helped create a hero of the left.

FoxNews is reporting that if this bill had passed, that it would close all abortion clinics in Texas.

Any article that explains why it would close all abortion clinics.

Perry better have some balls and call another session.

They sent in a bunch of out-of-staters to Austin.
