Perhaps I missed it but I don't recall a similar stories coming from the leftist media denouncing milestones in the numbers of innocents killed each year through abortion.

The left mourns the deaths of these convicted murderers but they happily defend the killing of the most innocent among us. If that's not evidence of a backwards ideology I don't know what it.

“Grim”?

Unless the author is referring to the horrendous crimes committed and the suffering of the victims and families

That’s what’s “grim”

Texas used to post the last meal requests of all executed inmates. I miss that.

No mention of the the families who have some consolation in the fact that the murderer who broke their hearts will not shatter another family.

Has any one of the murders executed ever been pothumously proved innocent?

The grim milestone is the people murdered. Executions are to bring about justice.

they’d be even safer if that number was higher.

leftists only do deathwatch counts on criminals and when republican presidents are in office.

they won’t do deathwatch counts on innocent civillians murdered by criminals, abortions, or any other thing that would challenge their world view.

Society order and civilization tends to advance when we value the lives of innocent people and demand swift justice from their murderers. It tends to decline when we don't.

The best case in point is the history of Ft. Smith, Arkansas which was transformed from a wild frontier town which was a haven of outlaws to a nice quiet community of church goers within a mere half-generation after introducing this device and using it consistently as needed:

Gallows at Ft. Smith

The LEFTIST media at it again.

How in the world can one be adamantly pro-infanticide, yet adamantly against putting murderers to death? On the one hand, you have unborn babies guilty only of being conceived (which obviously they had not control over). On the other - a person who CHOSE to commit murder (and almost always other crimes as well)...

What an amazing contradiction.
