Sen. McCain: US will have ‘most militarized’ border since Berlin Wall
The Hill ^ | 06/25/13 | Daniel Strauss

Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) on Tuesday said that an amendment advanced by the Senate would leave the U.S. with the “most militarized border” since the fall of the Berlin Wall and pave the way for the passage of comprehensive immigration reform.

This time John Mccain is really serious about stopping illegals from entering the USA and seeing an honest and fair immigration bill passed.

That is why he has refused to allow loopholes, halfway measures, outright lies and and half truths to be built into the immigration bill.

That is why he has refused to allow the immigration bill to be packed with paybacks, buy-offs and sweetheart deals to buy the support of reluctant senators.

That is why he has steadfastly refused to allow democrats to pack the bill with wealth redistribution schemes that have nothing at all to do with stopping illegal immigration or dealing with the illegals already here.

That is why he has refused to allow escape clauses in the bill that would give pro-amnesty, pro-illegal administration democrats (like Janet Napolitano) the authority to override many of the provisions of the bill.

That is why he has made certain that the bill will not allow illegals to ever receive taxpayer paid welfare, free medical care and other handouts and freebies.

OH WAIT!!!

Mccain really hasn't done any of these things, has he?

Not until there is one uninterrupted barrier set up, with designated entry points, and all other points seriously defended by effective measures. This fence could be built in MONTHS, not “years” as demagoged by Chuck Schumer. Of course, any “undocumented temporary residents” that approach the barrier are allowed a free pass to RETURN to the south side of the border, they just would not have reentry privileges.

My personal solution would be to have a canal dredged at sea level all the way from Brownsville, Texas to Imperial Beach, California, large enough and deep enough for the largest of ocean-going vessels. El Paso, Texas, becomes a sea port.

All highway connections would be by bridges that span the canal at designated points, while water ferries that cross the canal would be also regulated as to location and access. If anybody manages to breach that barrier, they shall have earned the designation of “wetback”.

Actually, as projects go, this is no more grandiose than the incentives for “climate control” that have been offered, which include conversion to “renewable” energy and various schemes for taxation and/or rationing of energy.

McCain knows damned full will that border security will NEVER happen.

So quit with the protestations, Juan... you’re not fooling anyone.

The only way this sanctimonious DC government would ever build a wall more militarized then the Berlin wall, would be if they were trying to prevent Americans from escaping DC’s debt load and police state tactics.

I’m amazed at how this particular issue... illegal immigration... has corrupted so many elected officials, like very little else. Regardless of party, all these people see is an eventual treasure trove of votes, and of course the sweetheart deals and bribes to get them to that point.

I say, part of the border problem could be mitigated by stocking the Rio Grande with piranhas.

Hey McLame, if you lost one more jet while in the Navy you would have been an Ace. . .for the other siode.

Anyway, Berlin Wall was to shoot people trying to escape. Our US border, if I had my way, would be to shoot illegals trying to get in.

The back of the line people get to live in the United States WHILE they're waiting in that 'line'....

With NO mandate for Obamacare, thus making THEM more affordable for hiring. Wow.. such a deal for them!

If a country decided to militarily cross over our borders, with tanks, troops, and shooting ammo, would we stand by and say Oh My!? ( Well, maybe this administration would)

Some 25,000 of these stocked in the Rio Grande would be helpful for the Texas-Mexico portion of the border.

that would be awesome if true, but as usually Juan is lying. Oh that our border was as good as say, North / South Korea - I would love all the mine fields, artillery, patrols, machine nests, radar, wire, barriers between us and mexico.

They already have. . .there have been over 200 incursions into the US by the meh-he-co army. . in the last 10-yrs.

They were NOT lost wandering the desert. They have GPS and the border is well known and marked.

Usually they are escorting drug smugglers. If drug smugglers get intercepted by US authorities then the army gets between the smugglers and the US authorities and escort the drugs back into meh-he-co.

Less costly to bribe the army than to lose a full drug load.

I’ve been thinking the same thing for years. I think the Viet Cong must have whacked him over the head a few too many times and years later, we are seeing the results. Destroyed brain cells firing in vain over and over again. Put this guy out to pasture ASAP before he can do us more harm. I’ve heard there are some lovely retirement homes in MEXICO, his chosen people.
