The prosecutor cursed and the defense attorney told a joke as both sides laid out opening arguments in the murder trial of George Zimmerman, the man who killed Florida teen Trayvon Martin in what his lawyers say was self-defense and authorities say was a case of fatal profiling.
The all-female jury of six took in both unconventional statements, alternately stunned, taking notes and at times appearing to nod in agreement. Jaws in the jury box dropped when prosecutor John Guy electrified the courtroom with a short, but profanity-laced and impassioned argument that sought to paint the defendant as an angry and out-of-control vigilante who was stalking Martin when he shot the teen in the gated community in Sanford, where he lived.
F---ing punks, prosecutor John Guy said in open court, quoting Zimmerman's own words to a non-emergency police dispatcher. These a--holes, they always get away.
The language -- rare for open court -- appeared to stun the six female jurors who must decide whether Zimmerman shot and killed the 17-year-old African-American teen in self defense, or if he stalked the youth and provoked the deadly confrontation.
Those were the words in that grown mans mouth as he followed, in the dark, a 17-year-old boy who he didnt know, continued Guy, as jurors in the Florida courtroom listened intently, some taking notes. And excuse my language, but those were his words, not mine.

No, but a pretty good way to get the jury against the defendant.
Anyone who uses the F word is guilty of murder?
Zimmerman should fire his attorney right now and demand a new one. That stupid joke is going to stick in the back of the minds of the jury and they will view him as a clown that isn’t taking the trial seriously.
the jury must be thinking WTF
,,,,,,,,,,,,,and constantly wiping his nose with the back of his hand..................GROSS!!!
It seems like he is saying to the jury that the reason you are on the jury is because of your own ignorance.
If I was Zimmerman, I’d be furious with this man.
What?
>> Zimmerman should fire his attorney right now and demand a new one.
What a pathetic bunch of crap from an ignorant armchair quarterback with zero skin in the game.
We’ll talk again when Zimmerman is acquitted.
Yeah, OK. After reading the article I get your point.
Agreed. There’s no way this was or will be a fair trial.
The women jurors were more likely "shocked" by the prosecutor's shouting those words in the courtroom, than by the idea that George Zimmerman muttered them --softly and under his breath-- while in a threatening situation.
Most American women (including me) have heard this kind of language, on the street, for the last few decades. It's a sad statement on the moral decline of our culture that these words no longer shock ... not on the street.
A courtroom setting is different, however. If I had been one of those women jurors, I would've felt insulted by an officer of the court spouting obscenities in an attempt to manipulate me.
He got some chuckles.
That's precisely the point: get the jurors to ignore the facts and make a decision based on how they feeeeeeeeeeeeeel . . . the same way they get less than bright people to vote Democrat.
Regarding knock-knock joke, I suspect that it was intended to fall flat to sober up the jurors to the idea that Zimmerman is probably not getting a fair trial.
Regarding the f-bomb, the jurors are going to have to ask themselves how many times that they’ve used the f-word and then killed somebody.
Not only that, it’s debatable as to what the word actually was—previously, TM supporters/media alleged that the word was “coons” or “spooks.” Others have asserted that the words is “cold” as in, Zimmerman exclaiming how chilly it was outside.
social media evidence of Trayvon’s thuggery ruled off-limits
Don West joke may not be so proper for a trial.....
However...it got everyones attention...judging by the comments. Got jurors attention
Jury does not have to like you....just believe you. Ask Casey Anthony
No he’s not, West is taking his time doing a very thorough and devastating job of obliterating the flimsy shred of a non-case against Zimmerman.
It can come in if prosecution claims “Trayvon was a good boy”...defense can bring in that as rebuttal
