The U.S. military is embracing a celebration of homosexuals in the ranks this month by sending out a gay pride poster and a directive to commands, while planning a Pentagon symposium that will be attended by Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel.
In the aftermath of ending the ban on open gays in the military, the Pentagon last June recognized Gay Pride Month for the first time in a subdued recognition of uniformed and civilian gays. As defense secretary at the time, Leon E. Panetta gave a public statement, and a Pentagon event featured an active-duty gay Marine, a gay Air Force civilian lawyer and a lesbian who had served in the Army.
Pride month is low-key again this year. The Pentagon has handed off planning for the event to DOD Pride, an organization of gay military and civilian employees. Directives that have been issued do not say commands must hold similar celebrations.
“Secretary Hagel looks forward to participating in this year’s DOD Pride event at the Pentagon on Tuesday, June 25 to celebrate LGBT Pride Month,” Pentagon spokesman George Little said.

Of course. It’s celebrated along with Anglo-American History Month and Male Heritage Month, during tree new month of al-Obamter.

When I retired (mandatory age, maxed out) in January 2011, I was dragged kicking & screaming from the Army I loved. I growled as I filled out reams of retirement forms. “Don’t wanna be no f******g civilian!!!” was my refrain.
I’ve kept in touch with former colleagues. Mention repeal of DADT and they do the `German glance’ (make sure no one is listening) before they speak. No more pride in being part of the “Big Picture”, now it’s “I just do my job”.
Never ever thought I would be glad to be retired. Now I am. What a crying shame it is.
And of course there is God
(whom I would never presume to know His mind) but I am thinking that this can't be good, or end well for America.
Mercifully I am in control of absolutely nothing, so I will continue to pray for His perfect will to be what guides me.

I look forward to the day when the military recognizes other brave service members who are part of the broad sexual continuum. I sincerely hope that sadomasochism, scat play, the “baby people”, furries, and swingers will be honored and their sexual lifestyles be formally recognized and promoted by the armed forces. Until then, there will be just no equality in this country.
