In advance of a critical vote Monday on a border security deal offered by Republican Sens. Bob Coker and John Hoeven, the president of the Immigrations and Customs Enforcement union urged senators to vote no on the amendment.
National ICE Council President Chris Crane issued an aggressive statement calling on lawmakers to vote no on the amendment to the Senates immigration reform bill and called out Florida Republican Sen. Marco Rubio for misleading law enforcement on promises of more interior enforcement.
Senator Corker a lead sponsor of the 1,200 page amendment being voted on today has admitted that needed interior enforcement provisions are absent. Senator Rubio, who promised ICE officers and Sheriffs that he would take steps to repair the bills provisions that gut interior enforcement, has abandoned that commitment, Crane said. He directly misled law enforcement officers.

Understand that this is the President of a union whose membership would purportedly be doubled by Corker-Hoeven. And they are asking the Senate to vote against it.
That is a powerful statement, indeed.
So love your statement. Call a spade a spade and stop the games!!! It is all BS. We all know it! But the dems have to make it into a wonderful thing. Does this bill just cover Mexicans only, or can Dominicans come in too?
Didn’t Cheney register to vote in another state? I could see Jeb doing that to get a beloved Hispanic on the ticket.
I'm guessing it involves either little girls or little boys.
Excellent points!
I will be ‘borrowing’ them and make some calls too.
I think the union is opposing he entire bill.
There were stories about a month ago on Fox, Wash Examiner and Times and also Breitbart about the immigration agencies unions are opposing the bill. The other union President said the volume would be so great that there’d be no option other than to rubber stamp everybody.
Yes, Cheney switched his residence from Texas to Wyoming to be GWB’s running mate.
But Cheney’s personal and political history were based in Wyoming. Not seen as a big deal, Jeb’s career has been in FL. Very different deal than Cheney’s switch.
Jeb also has considerable ties to Texas. I can see him registering there.
Yes. But Cheney had been born and raised in Wyoming, was elected to Congress from Wyoming and had always maintained a residence there. Indeed, there was more reason to accept Cheney as a resident of Wyoming than as a resident of Texas.
There is no reason to accept Rubio as a resident of any state other than Florida. Accordingly, it would have to be Jeb Bush who would have to change states -- to Texas, where he was born and raised.
Your entire post is nothing but GOP-e pablum. You are trying to weave a laughable line of reasoning that tries to justify what is plain reality in front of us.
You have not understanding of the power and the march of the Statist of both parties.
Oh and for you Palin fans, she is out of her league when trying to play this game.
What a disgusting statement. I suggest you read the reality of Sarah's 18 years in public service. She took on entrenched elitists of both parties in her state and soundly defeated them.
Sarah sees clearly the evil of crony capitalism and the power-hungry Statists of both parties.
It doesn't take a nuanced genius to weave a solution -- as your dumb post implies.
No, it takes a leader that will rally the people to elect politicians who will dismantle the unconstitutional parts of the Federal leviathan.
Sarah out of her league?? What Founder would even consider a 1200 page bill worthy of even a glance? NONE. Sarah has the Founders love of Liberty in her DNA. You can go hang out with your arrogant elitist friends who are destroying our Republic.
I DETEST TRAITORS and LIARS and PHONIES!!! MR fits ALL THREE!
That's what I'm saying. Jeb would walk on hot coals to get a Hispanic king in waiting.
Let's face it... just another worthless POS politician.
Law enforcement wasn’t even consulted in the bill’s drafting
May his feet burn down to the ankles...
YES!
The states that have the most "skin in the game" should have a say in scoring the results. They CERTAINLY have to compensate for the downside of non-performance.
Youve got to look beyond the rhetoric to the actual positions that they support. Cruz is like most TX pols (hello, Rick Perry), who loudly tout their conservatism, but since Texas is already so lost to Hispanic immigration, legal and otherwise, are ready to sell out the country to the demographics change theyve already undergone.
How about you fill the rest of us in...?!
Your take on TX politics is ignorant at best. Actions speak LOUDER than words. I'll take the results of Texas over anything you can tout newbie.
Read my profile and In-Forum posts before attacking me...
Sure didn’t take somebody long to type up 1200 pages of crap. That’s like writing 3 or 4 novels. Who actually writes these bills?
Marco Rubio the Salt Water Wet Back
I was listening to the Hannity Comedy Show yesterday while I was in my tractor and he wondered how Rubio was going to vote on this. I liked to cracked up laughing so hard that here was Hannity wondering how this sellout was going to vote.
Oh and by the way. For me, I never fell for the crap that was coming from this amnesty loving wetbacks mouth
