The Senate will vote Monday on a five-part amendment to the approximately 1,075-page immigration bill that would legalize illegal aliens and eventually allow them to become citizens of the United States. The text of the amendment has been posted on the website of the Senate Judiciary Committee--and part of it is presented in illegible handwriting scrawled across the margins of a page in the draft bill.
Click here to see a copy of the page and the proposed legislative language scrawled on it.
In his weekly address on Saturday, President Barack Obama urged Americans to contact their senators and tell them "now is the time to pass this bill"--even though it has not yet been fully presented in legible type.
The amendment was offered by Sen. Bob Corker (R.-Tenn.) and Sen. John Hoeven (R.-N.D.). The section of the amendment scrawled on the page posted by the Judiciary Committee deals with how the Federal Emergency Management Agency will allocate grants to local law enforcement agencies in border states that have to deal with the impact of illegal immigration and drug smuggling.
The Senate is expected to vote on the full immigration bill by the end of next week. It would allow more than 11 million illegal aliens in the United States to eventually become citizens.
"Thats why Republicans and Democrats, CEOs and labor leaders, are saying that now is the time to pass this bill," Obama said in his weekly address. "If you agree with us, reach out to your Senators and Representatives. Tell them that the time for excuses is over; its time to fix our broken immigration system once and for all."
The sensible thing to do is vote no. Then fold Reid’s amendment seven ways and shove it where the sun don’t shine.
Have you read, and do you understand EVERY WORD of this bill?
If your answer is no, you have not read, nor do you understand EVERY WORD of this bill, then a responsible legislator MUST VOTE NO!
(Hint: It's okay to take extra days and weeks and even months to read and discuss. There is absolutely no reason to hurry into a hidden language trap.)
We voters will long remember what you have done, keep that in mind come primary time.
.
I want to propose a Constiutional Amendment that I call 'The Twitter Amendment.'
It would limit all laws voted on by Congress be limited to 140 characters in length.
You are operating under the assumption that they care. Even when voted out, they can get a consulting gig, go join the lobbyist on K Street, etc. Also, they get their lovely pensions supplied by the American tax drone.
Stop Amnesty.
Tell congressmen we don’t want ANY bill passed, no matter what they promise. This bill is Amnesty for 30 million illegals, and a 1000 page bill that brings in 80 million 3rd world immigrants. The bill will destroy the U.S. and will turn the USA into a socialist state as is the democrats/Obamas plan.

Please sign their petition to require the Speaker to honor the Hastert Rule! If the Senate passes an amnesty for illegal aliens, it will be important that the House refuses to pass any immigration legislation in 2013! Stop the amnesty legislation!

Well it’s not really illegible, I can read it.
Years of reading crappy Doctors handwriting, mine included.
Still, its a hell of a way to run a country.
If this passes I’m done, literally out of here.
It would almost be worth passing Amnesty, as terrible as that legislation is, if some portion of the scribble (or an obscure footnote in the reconciliation bill) said, “H.R. 3590 (111th), the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, is repealed in full, effective upon the date this bill is signed.” We are dealing with evil, corrupt, anti-Constitution liars, and as much as I prefer to act honestly, I could go for a little of their medicine to teach them about fair play.
You can bet the douchebags won’t even read it before they vote for it.
I must be a masochist.
I keep coming to FR to read about the destruction of America.
“We voters will long remember what you have done...”
If this passes, it will not matter what voters remember.

A 21ST CENTRURY JOAN OF ARC, SHE IS!
I was trying to figure out why the Chuck Schumer Republicans rejected the Cornyn amnendment, which pays for fewer BP agents, as a “poison pill,” but they like this one, with double the number of BP agents (eventually). My guess is that they think the Cornyn amendments language about 90% apprehension rate is too specific, although I don’t see why Nappy would have any problem reporting an obviously false 90% number.
One good thing about this is that the Corker amendment may be a “poison pill” from Cornyn’s point of view.
Obama added----"the DNC took a cue from the IRS---and prepared a video to loosen up the senate for the vote."
The video is a rollicking, playful take on the Cheech and Chong movie, "Coming to America"....a belly-laugh comedy about crossing the border illegally.
Sen Schumer plays Cheech and Sen Rubio plays Chong.
Janet Napolitano plays "Rosita," owner of the Mexican cantina, "Reconquista"....she's seen pouring tequila shots for the future US citizens, who are gathered to fill out welfare, EITC refund, and voter registration forms...all in Spanish.
Cameo roles feature Obama as a lovable, compassionate, braindead Stepen Fetchit character who sweeps up the cantina. Michele Obama plays "Conchita," a fiery senorita who has a (cough) room above the cantina.
Sen Menendez plays a helpful "coyote" charging the impoverished Mexicans $10,000 each for a ride across the border and a packet of forged documents.
Barbara Boxer greets the illegals in lace-trimmed mantilla and castanets---performing a rip-roaring Mexican Hat Dance as the illegals cross the border.
Eric Holder portrays Pepe---and Harry Reid plays "Loco"----two degenerate gun-slingers in sombrero and serape who can only say six words in English---"We dunt need no steeken badjes."
MESSAGE TO CONGRESS: "I'm a legal American citizen, I pay taxes, I vote, and I don't like this bill. Most of all I don't like my govt using legislative power to scrounge for illegal voters to stay in power."
Accuracy in Media reports that the immigration reform bill includes two slush funds amounting to $150,000,000 that may be supplemented with additional taxpayer dollars for years to come. These funds would go to public or private, non-profit organizations such as the blood-thirsty La Raza, Casa de Maryland (involved in voter fraud), and the American Immigration lawyers Association!
These and other organizations set to receive tax millions are ethno-centric-—devoted to helping illegal immigrants apply for legal status.
The reform bill not only provides amnesty for illegal immigrants, but for their employers. As the Center for Immigration Studies points out, Illegal aliens will be rewarded for breaking laws for which American citizens are routinely punished such as the use of fraudulent Social Security cards, while imposing a $1,000 penalty that in many cases would be waived.
Then they would be issued a new Social Security number without any past bad credit or arrest records.
Me too. It’s depressing.
