If there were any strategist left in the Republican party, they’d have people all over the news right now saying, “well I guess we lost. Kind of funny, unions never supported us, yet we were the ones trying to save their jobs. Oh well, we give up.”

Conservatives just need to protect their own property in a similar fashion to the Korean shopkeepers during the "insurrection" cited above.
