A registered sex offender, released from jail less than a month ago, has been arrested and charged with murder in the death of an 8-year-old Florida girl abducted while shopping with her mother on Friday night.
The body of Charish Perriwinkle was found in front of Highlands Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Florida on Saturday morning after a frantic search. Donald James Smith of Jacksonville was taken into custody after police cornered his white van on Interstate 95. He had only been released from jail on May 31 after serving 438 days on felony charges of child abuse and unlawful impersonation of a public employee.ail on Facebook

Somehow tolerance has become permission. I was up quite a while last night praying about the 13 yr old boy in Texas. It broke my heart that he is even now being ostracized in Texas. Sounds like the Kalifornication of Texas is picking up steam. This mom here was shopping at the dollar store and the perp is a manipulator of prey. Justice is sleeping in America.
I can’t wrap my mind around how a mother could allow a stranger to take her child anywhere. The utter stupidity of some people is mind-boggling. WTF was she thinking????
As for the perp, I do hope prison “justice” is meted out to him in short order... Given the glacially ponderous process in place, he probably won’t live long enough to get the executioner’s needle.

To everyone I am trying to stay politically correct and not express my true feelings of how our great system caused this. I spent many years in the court presenting issues and being ignored and told I was trying to hurt the mother. Now the truth of the great mother is out. It was at the cost of my child’s life. RIP young lady. my nick name for her. My wife has tried to keep me off and not comment but the pain is too great and to know this could have been avoided. I gave the legal system all the signs for over many years.

I am sorry to be this blunt and straight forward, but...
Should we assume she called 911 a minute after the daughter disappeared from her sight? Wasn’t it like a span of 30 minutes between the two events (mcdonald’s comment and 911 call)? If I felt the guy was ‘creepy’ I would have not climbed in his van with the three kids and wait ‘for hours’ (Action News Jax)! ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND? Now the mother tries to change her story so she would not go to jail? WHAT IN THE WORLD?
I am also a mother. And I have played all kinds of scenarios in my head how this tragedy could have been avoided! AND IN NONE OF THEM that was the result!

Mr. Jarreau is not her ‘biological father’, he IS her father. We have been trying to get custody of Cherish for half a decade now - in vain. The fact that the mother is in denial for years about the reality of things is tragic. Her poor judgement caused the loss of the precious life. The girl is playing with angels now...

This story makes me sick to my stomach. What mother in her right mind, in today’s day, would let her child(a little girl at that) go with a complete stranger they just met in a store? Am I crazy here? Not wanting to heap on this parent after all that has happened, but it is just amazing to me!
I hope that the animal that did this is put to death quickly(won’t happen in Fl.) or at best gets let loose in General Population of prison.

Three crimes that would automatically get the death penalty.
Murder.
Rape.
Kidnapping.
The “common” law is common because it is the law the people (commoners) wanted, not the nobles.
This guy is acting out the evil in him; horrible, but in his nature. The mother, however, had to be totally insane to give that beautiful innocent to a complete stranger.
