In a major victory for murder suspect George Zimmerman, a judge today ruled that prosecutors may not put on the witness stand two state audio experts who say the voice heard screaming in the background of a 911 call was someone other than Zimmerman.
The judge had heard three days of testimony about the science used by the state's experts and ruled that it failed to meet Florida's legal standard.
One of the experts, Alan R. Reich, had concluded the voice he identified as Trayvon is heard yelling "I'm begging you" and "stop." The other, Tom Owen, says he ruled Zimmerman out as the screamer with biometric software.
Both are now banned.

Plausibility doesn’t matter. I listened to two black men discussing this in the gym. They completely buy the racist white guy theory.
On the analysis, the bandwidth of the phone is 15 kHz. Your voice can range up to probably 18kHz. But I think most of us are very narrow. (That’s why people can sing base, but not tenor.) There could be considerable noise on the recording. The expert would analyze samples of each person’s voice. Each voice will have an established “print.” Let’s say most of your vocal energy is at middle C. If both voices are nearly the same frequency there may be difficulties establishing who was doing the screaming. With such a bad recording secondary harmonics may be absent. But, as was pointed out, it makes no sense that Trayvon was doing it.
The judge just saved the state from themselves and shortened the trial by a week.

Juries hate complexity, and they get easily confused.
The screams are not an issue in this case. Trayvon's criminal background is not an issue in this case. Purple drank is not an issue in this case. Zimmerman being kind to negroes is not an issue in this case.
Zimmerman is charged WITH SECOND DEGREE MURDER. He has several affirmative defenses, including, most importantly, self-defense.
ANY EVIDENCE ABOUT ANYTHING EXCEPT WHAT HAPPENED WHEN HE WAS ON THE GROUND WITH MARTIN BEATING HIM IS IRRELEVANT, and, not only that, no such evidence could possibly help him. That the guy he shot was a scumbag is not a defense. That the guy he shot was casing houses for B&E is not a defense. That the guy he shot was doing drugs is not a defense. That the guy he shot was a wannabe gangsta and imagined himself as "no_limit_nigga" is not a defense.
If Zimmerman can prove that he was being beaten in a manner that could result in his death and that he could not escape other than through his perfectly legal use of deadly force, nothing that the State does or says matters.

My tho0uhgt is that it’s not goign to be good news fro George, because now if George is not convicted, the black community WILL scream about unfair trial claimign the voice was trayvon’s and claimign a prejudicial judge and jury knew it but wouldn’t allow it as evidence
I think the defense’s experts said you can’t tell who it is. They were literally laughing during their deposition as they trashed the prosecution’s guys.

No- there were ‘experts’ on both sides givign two different opinions- and the independent experts said there was no way to conclusively tell who’s voice uit was- it could have goen either way in court
How does a six person jury work in FL? Does it have to be unanimous? Can one juror queer the the deal?

End of story. Trayvon was trying to kill Zimmerman and any witnesses. What is the problem?

Juries don’t work in florida- murderesses and such get off when there’s more than enough evidence to convict- Apparently, if the jurers were present when hte murders or killing happened, they will always side with hte murderess (Casey Anthiny)- It’s quite likely that Goerge doesn’t have a prayer of a chance with florida jurors- no matter how good his lawyer is
yes, unanimous. Either all 6 say guilty, all 6 say innocent, or it’s hung.
Yeah, I tend to agree there about protecting the prosecution. Those two nimrods would have been the poster children for what is going to be portrayed as a prosecution witch hunt.
Anyway, better they not be on at all rather than something for the jury to have to focus upon beyond the physical facts which are not in dispute: Zimmerman bore wounds inflicted by the baby St Trayvon and St Trayvon was shot once. Seems to me someone trying to kill someone out right would have emptied the entire mag into his worthless body.
Well, first of all, there are no black guys on the jury. Second of all, these guys were likely reacting to the very filtered story promoted by MSNBC and BET.
As little faith as I have in the system, it is hard for me to imagine it being so broken that when presented in a court -- even a biased one -- the facts of this case won't result in an acquittal, or at least a hung jury.
