REP. PAUL RYAN (R-WIS.): Not now, but in the future we're going to have labor shortages. We have 10,000 people retiring each and everyday in America when the Baby Boomers retire.

That’s the argument the euros fell for a few years: “The immigrants will do the jobs that the kids we didn’t have won’t do.”
Now the euro-surro ‘kids’ are surly, hostile, welfare dependents.
Besides, red States have a positive birth rate.
Go pound sand, Ryan, you libertarian screwball. Along with your open borders buddies.
Me neither. Reminds me of those aptitude test questions that say: "Which of these doesn't belong in the list".
Ryan cost us senate seats with his focus on cutting entitlements in the middle of an economic downturn. The GOP needs to dump him and marginalize him.
I do appreciate that he at least tried to balance the budget. But he went about it completely wrong. The way to balance the budget is to fix the economy. Get some of the industries that we offshored back and put Americans back to work. This could be done by raising import tariffs.
At the very least import tariffs should be equal to the impact of taxes on domestic producers. But really the tariffs should be higher than that to offset the impact of low wage countries like China.
It's not just China's currency manipulation. The wage differential is the big difference. They keep their consumer base poor by soaking up all of the dollars earned through taxes so that the communist government controls where those dollars are spent. And they aren't spent on trade goods. They are spent on our debt and buying our industries.
The policy outcomes have already been decided and not by us. We would have gotten some version of the ACA regardless of who won in ‘08 or ‘12. We’re probably going to get some version of amnesty regardless. It’s just that unlike the Soviet Union our politburo is invisible.
Send them all home and then bring them back when they are needed.
Not quite. They will still be very attractive to employers because they aren’t covered by Obamacare rules. So employers don’t have to pay Obamacare or Obamacare fines for them. That makes them very attractive employment wise, even more attractive than US citizens.
You are correct about the bill not fixing anything but I’m sure it will set up the need for another wave of illegals with the promise of amnesty in the future.
Ryan has crossed over into delusional.
How can we ever forget Romney's mighty etch-a-sketch.
Nothing will help blacks or the whiteswho live on welfare or anyone else living on Uncle’s teat until ALL welfare is CUT OFF ENTIRELY. All phony disability, HUD, AFDC, WIC, food stamps, energy assistance and on and on has to be eliminated. Stopped. Cut off.
Sink or swim, work or be hungry.
It has to happen.
Doesn’t a labor shortage require a few jobs?
But it's nothing like what these dumbasses are talking about.
Labor shortages coming?
After 5 years of record breaking unemployment why not wait to see if it really materializes.
I consider them Government workers already - the Government is paying them to sit on their collective arses.
Correct...carpenters, dry wallers, cement workers...etc are getting screwed by the illegal invasion.
computer programmers is a separate line of work in my post.
They are not unskilled, there are just too many of them in the world.
a soviet era economic central planner couldn’t have said it better. any true conservative would have known better.
RCP doesn’t seem to be real clear on this. Why has this guy come out with such off the wall statements? Do WTP trust this news source...do WTP trust anyone, any longer. Not unless we’ve drunk the kool aid Just another face in the crowd. Paul, for shame. But, better now than later. Perhaps your losing was actually a blessing in disguise. Time will tell
