Youtube ^ | Jun 16, 2013 | Elbert Guillory

Louisiana Senator Elbert Guillory (R-Opelousas) explains why he recently switched from the Democrat Party to the Republican Party. He discusses the history of the Republican Party, founded as an Abolitionist Movement in 1854. Guillory talks about how the welfare state is only a mechanism for politicians to control the black community.

I only wish the core values of the Republican Party that he talks about were the core values of the modern Republican Party and that we started by throwing those big-government ‘moderates’ back into the Democrat Party were they belong!

Doesn’t mean much to me. I question myself everyday why I am a Republican. So, is this just the left further infecting the Republican party? I seriously wonder. I grew up as a conservative and never went through that phase of being a liberal. Yes, I have a low level of empathy and a high level of logic.

Sorry, but that's not really accurate. Some Republicans in 1854 were abolitionists. Most were just opposed to the further spread of slavery.

At least he knows why he turned Republican, I keep wondering why I stay, I think it’s because there is nowhere else to go.

The Republican Party was founded to replace the Whigs because the Whigs would not stand up to the Democrats and take a stand on the major issues of the day.

They did such a good job of replacing the Whigs that they have become the Whigs.

And just as the Republicans in their early years irritated both the Democrats and the Whigs, so the Tea Party irritates the Democrats and the Whig Republicans.

He’s right that Republicans have led the civil rights movements and that all those welfare programs are not to uplift the poor and minorities, but to control them.

Yes, I think he is for real.

He is a Pastor and State Senator. And a gifted speaker. Good delivery and clear thought process. Good sense of humor. He is comfortable in his own skin. He is not young and has real world experience.

The poison pill that the ComDems have proscribed for the Black People is so lethal that some actually “get it” now. It appears to me that he does get it.

The Christian Black Community does not support homosexuality, abortion and many other sides of the ComDem agenda. Ignorance has prolonged this tipping point. We may actually be there now.

The dismal jobs performance for Blacks under the Obozo administration is accelerating this.
