KANSAS CITY, KS - Police are investigating a protest at Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach's home as he said Monday he is prepared to use lethal force if necessary. The KCK Police Department issued a statement Monday afternoon about the protest on Saturday at Kobach's home.
"We are reviewing (sic) matter to determine if protestors violated any laws or ordinances," according to the brief news release...
"I was just appalled," he said. "They have a right to protect at my office or at my public places, that's fine. But they don't have the right to enter someone's private property and engage in this kind of intimidation. I have four little girls and they would have been terrified to see 200 protesters shouting at their daddy on megaphones on the front lawn."
A town hall meeting was held Saturday to discuss comprehensive immigration reform. Four buses filled with protestors converged on Kobach's home. He and his family were out of town at time...Video shot by one of the protestors showed a group standing at Kobach's front door. Chants and songs were made. Some protestors left behind shoes that they said represented the fathers turned by their families after they were deported...
A spokeswoman said the protest had made an impact and the group has no regrets...Kobach, an attorney, has championed tough immigration laws, including an Arizona law. He told Fox News that he believed many of those outside his home are in Kansas illegally.
"You don't go to a public official's home and try to intimidate him because of the positions he's taken," he said.
He said it took police 15 minutes to respond to his home, which he believes is unacceptable when a "mob" was involved...
He said Saturday's incident is an example of why Americans should bear arms.
"If we had been in the home and not been armed, I would have felt very afraid because it took the police 15 minutes to show up," he said to Fox News. "It's important we recognize there's a reason we have the Second Amendment. There are situations like this where you have a mob and you do need to be able to protect yourself."...
"My views are set and I'm determined to do what I can to restore the rule of law," he said. "Let's obey our laws and not give amnesty to illegal aliens."...
The Sunflower Community Action group that organized the protest has yet to respond to Kobach's comments and criticism.
There was a time when Presidents sent armed men to keep order when mobs threatened the rights of others.
Lived in Wyandotte County many years ago and graduated from high school there. When we had kids we moved to Overland Park and then Lenexa in Johnson County. Now everybody lives in Texas.
Wyandotte County was heavily minority and totally Democrat when we lived there, Johnson County about half and half politically and there were very few minorities. As you got closer to State Line, there were more Democrats. If Kobach is living in Wyandotte County it has to be in the very western part.
Agree with your comment about what the outside world knows about the county structure there. These two counties could not be any different, particularly in the areas of demographics, income and educational level and politics.
American continues to DIVIDE and DIMINISH itself.
Kris does indeed live in a part of Wyandotte County. He's not in 'da hood but still is in WyCo.
His address is NOT public, so the protesters must have gotten it from his IRS tax form!
Hey Illigal Immigrant lobby, Jeb Bush, Lindsay, and my Senators McShamnesty and McFlake, are these the “family values” that your Illegal Immigrants represent? Going to someone’s home to terrorize them? Some “family values”.
This Country will be by Mob rule soon. Disgusting, disgraceful and very sad.
Come to my house. I have a 12 gauge I like to call the liberal eater. I might have several hundred rounds of 00 buck shot near by as well. But I think the 20 gauge with bird shot would do the trick first or some of the other guns I leave laying around to arm the gangs who break in. That is if they get out by accident.
I wonder what would have happened to one of the “protesters” (undocumented mobs) if for any reason they happened to get hurt (slip-n-fall on a loose step)? Methinks they would get a lawyer and then sue to make money off their tresspassing.
Uncle Eric Holder sent it out to the masses...
Um hum, the Massi-uh and Uncle Eric have their own “armies” to send out anytime it looks like people are “off the reservation.”
