House Speaker John Boehner is not going to bring a comprehensive immigration-reform plan to the floor if a majority of Republicans don't support it, sources familiar with his plans said.
"No way in hell," is how several described the chances of the speaker acting on such a proposal without a majority of his majority behind him.
Boehner, R-Ohio, does not view immigration in the same vein as the fiscal cliff last December, when he backed a bill that protected most Americans from a tax increase even though less than half of the GOP lawmakers were with him, said multiple sources, who spoke anonymously to allow greater candor.

When I make them I always make more than I will eat and then freeze the extras. I just checked the freezer and found four, so I won’t be cooking them today ... maybe next Thursday or Friday.
Is there such a group, or is that a fabrication of Alex Jones and the ever crafty Jim Marrs?
Wants to retain his leadership position through the 2014 election cycle.

>>I hope that it dies in the Senate, that would be the perfect ending. But I fear that a lot of Senators (a la Rand Paul and Lindsey Graham) have been bought off.
Yeah, it sure looks that way, but I have a feeling that the amendments voted on will be so egregious that the Rudio will step away from the table, conservatives will cheer him, and then Graham and the others will get the message.
Keep calling and emailing!
There you go. Great!
I’ve become a user of the freezer a lot more of late.

Marco Rubio is forever dead to me at this point, I will NEVER cheer him.
I agree with you statement “Keep calling and emailing!” and hope that it will die in the Senate if we keep up the pressure. But my hope is minimal on that front.
I’m from Missouri on this one.
Especially after little Marco screamed “Enforcement first” and lied his butt off.
Suuure. When was the last time he didn’t cave?
it is just words. wait until the actions match up. boner does not deserve the benefit of the doubt as far as he has been speaker and his last purge of conservatives from power.
I’m quite sure a majority of the Republicans support it.
Looks like the Hastert Rule conference was a success for conservatives.

I don’t know. They rushed it through cloture because they realized that people do not like this bill and they’re trying to get it passed as quickly as possible before the backlash begins. We’ve passed the ignore and ridicule stages. They’ve started the protest (fight) stage by calling up ACORN. Unfortunately for them, this only gets people more involved.
I think that the word is getting out that this bill is a monstrosity.
The bill weighs 24 pounds, that weight is equal to 3 gallons of milk.
Madmen
Must be confident he can coerce 50%.
