All sorts of bad news in this CNN poll for Obama - a poll that has consistently shown the president's approval numbers better than almost any other pollster.
Obama's approval dropped 8 points in the last month. But some of the cross tabs should worry the White House:
President Barack Obama's approval rating dropped eight percentage points over the past month, to 45%, the president's lowest rating in more than a year and a half, according to a new national poll.
The poll indicates that for the first time in Obama's presidency, half of the public says they don't believe he is honest and trustworthy. And Americans are split on the controversial National Security Agency anti-terrorism program to record metadata on U.S. phone calls, but they support the NSA program that targets records of Internet usage by people in other countries. That doesn't mean they necessarily like what is going on: Just over six in 10 believe that government is so large and powerful that it threatens the rights and freedoms of ordinary Americans.
The president's approval rating stands at 45%, down from 53% in mid-May. And 54% say they disapprove of how Obama's handling his job, up nine points from last month. It's the first time in CNN polling since November 2011 that a majority of Americans have had a negative view of the president.
Fueling the president's drop is his standing with those under 30, down 17 points in a month. And more than 60% believe that the government is so big and powerful, it threatens our liberty.

45%? I’m not going to celebrate over that. It should be 5%.
What a preposterous idea. Ordinary Americans have no rights and freedoms.
Correct. That is easily the most ignorant and uninformed segment of American society. They will stick with Obama to the last. And just because a few slightly more informed libs don’t like what Obama is doing does not mean they’d support conservative Republicans.
Our own under 30's are a 17 year old bound for college in the fall and his 20 year old brother who attends a large university. Our 20 year old is very angry and cynical about what the boomers are leaving his generation. He's no fan of the man in the white hut, but his anger is broader and involves the political correctness, corruption and greed he perceives among the generation in positions of leadership. He sees a tough future and wonders how young people in their 20's are going to find jobs when they are competing with experienced workers who have lost their jobs mid-career.
I've asked our older son how much support the guy in DC has among his classmates and he says it's a mixed bag, but declining. Job prospects and debt are hitting home.
Our 17 year old was 13 at the time of the 2008 election. At that time he thought the man had the soul of a dictator. He understands that his future is greatly affected by what is going on. He sees a lot of mind-numbed robots among his high-school peers, but also independent thinkers who have had to suppress their opinions in order to receive passing grades from indoctrinated teachers. He gets it.
I don't think our kids are typical of their generation, but there are more of them then we sometimes realize. They just need to go along to get along in these politically correct educational institutions. I don't see them turning to the GOP in large numbers though. I see more of a libertarian tilt, as they're angry and fed up with both major parties and just want to be left alone.
This means nothing...Obama’s approval could hit 10% and the MSM will still be singing his praises and no crime he could commit would ever lead to his impeachment. I’m not sure that even if Obama declared himself dictator would there be so much as a whimper from the GOP and no mention in the media.
” Obama has NO opposing party. “
Best (short) post of the day.
” O’s got his conman act down pat. It’s the Clinton MO-—no matter what happens, act like all is A-OK. “
Correct.
Approval rate?
He’s already re-elected. It doesn’t matter.
It’s not nearly low enough.
” Approval rate?
Hes already re-elected. It doesnt matter.”
The D.C. Republicans are acting like they are employed as part of the Obama Administration.
Thanks stephen...
Even though nearly half of the people surveyed approve of the “job” that Obozo is doing, his approval is down 9 points from last month.
I think some people who don’t normally pay any attention to current events are suddenly upset over the NSA surveillance. They’re upset because it affects them directly - their internet, texting, and digital lifestyle. They may not have ever heard of Benghazi, nor would they likely care. It’s the fact that the NSA may be looking at the naked pictures they send to each other with their smart phones that has them a little concerned. Or, maybe the fact that the government is spying on how much porn they download.
Oh, well...whatever it takes. Rush always said that if something started bothering these folks about the Obozo administration, it would be something related to pop culture. Maybe this is it.
Six' !!!!

GtG
“..D.C. Republicans...”
F***ing turncoat spineless weasels.
” F***ing turncoat spineless weasels.”
Every ounce of them.
It’s pathetic... and infuriating...
